Nestlé is recalling specific batches of 11 different formula milk products due to potential contamination with bacillus cereus. The recall notice says there have been no confirmed reports of illness associated with consuming the products, and that people who may have bought these batches should not feed them to their baby.
If you’re using infant formula to feed your baby, swapping to a different brand is fine. If you’re using a specialised formula, please consult a health professional about a suitable alternative.
The recall notice says a refund will be issued if you’ve purchased one of the affected batches - how to do this is in the comments. The product batch code can be found on the base of the tin or box for powdered formulas, or the base of the outer box and on the side / top of the container for ready-to-feed formulas.
Nestlé has taken the precautionary step of recalling several SMA Infant Formula and Follow-On Formula because they may contain cereulide toxin.
