In your first session we’ll have an initial consultation where I will ask for information including relevant medical history (such as previous injuries or physical conditions that may affect your massage).

In following sessions, we will have a shorter chat before your treatment. Whether it is an initial consultation or quick check in, the aim is always to develop the best treatment plan for you on the day. Your information is confidential, securely stored, and only used for the purposes of your treatment and making contact about appointments.

Every inhale fuels your body. Every exhale releases what you no longer need. The way you breathe shapes how you feel, think, and move through the world.

And yet… most of us go through the day barely noticing our breath at all. We breathe shallow and fast, and wonder why we feel stressed or tired.

Here’s a gentle reset:
👉 Pause right now.
👉 Inhale slowly through your nose, letting your belly rise.
👉 Exhale even slower, softening your jaw and shoulders.
That’s it—just one mindful breath.

Notice what shifts: more calm, more presence, more space inside yourself.

I will offer you a soft blanket to lie under during your massage. I will un-drape and re-drape each area that I am massaging. For example, if I’m massaging your back, I will uncover your back but keep the rest of you covered up and cosy. This helps you to feel safe, secure and warm throughout your treatment.

You can always request extra blankets if you want to feel warmer or cosier. In the cooler months, I make sure the room is warm and offer a heated blanket too. In the hot weather, I open windows to keep the room comfortable, using a fan when the weather gets really hot.

When life feels overwhelming, your breath is the fastest way back to balance. Just a single, intentional inhale and exhale tells your body: you’re safe, you can relax.

Thank you, Sue, for this really touching review. I really DO love what I do and am really passionate about the benefits of breathwork.

Breathwork is like a remote control for the nervous system. We can use the breath to regulate the nervous system, both to down regulate (calm) the body by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system and up regulate (energise) the body by stimulating the sympathetic nervous system.

Massage therapy is more than just a way to ease sore muscles—it’s a practice that nurtures both the body and the mind. For many people, that caring, intentional touch can feel like a reset button, offering comfort and connection when life feels overwhelming.

During your hot stone massage, smooth, flat, heated basalt stones are used to promote your healing and well-being. I use the stones themselves to massage your body, using Swedish massage techniques to give you a holistic treatment. The heat from the hot stones allows the massage to have a deeper effect; one massage stroke with a hot stone is equivalent to four or five massage strokes with my hands. I may also place some stones on your body where the constant release of heat can help to ease tension in your muscles.

Before your massage we will have a conversation where I get to know a little about you and find out the parts of your body needing some attention. This might be because you have a specific injury or condition, where you are feeling some tension or aches and pains or simply for relaxation. We will then agree a massage plan together.

This ensures that you can ask for the treatment that you want or need and allows me to tailor your massage to meet your needs on the day.
