Flooding: Be Prepared, Stay Safe, Recover Well π§οΈ
Floods can happen quickly and affect your health, home, and wellbeing. Here are key tips to help you and your community:

Make a flood plan for your household

Keep important items & medicines in a safe place

Prepare an emergency kit (torch, batteries, food, water, phone charger)

Check on neighbours, especially older or vulnerable people
π΄ During a Flood β Respond: π« Avoid walking or driving through flood water π Call 999 if you're in danger π’ Follow local advice and updates π Move to higher ground if needed π§Ό Avoid contact with flood water β it may be contaminated
π’ After a Flood β Recover: π§½ Clean up safely β wear gloves and wash hands π§ Look after your mental health β flooding can be traumatic π Contact your GP or NHS 111 if you feel unwell π¬ Reach out for support β you're not alone ποΈ Help others in your community recover
