The people who live with us enjoyed a trip to the Crossing Church earlier this week for their monthly singing with dementia afternoon. We really enjoyed singing and dancing along to the talented Annie Fotheringham and seeing our friends in the community.

The people who live with us celebrated Australia Day.

We started by making Australian treats like fairy bread and Lamington Tiffin, whilst we watched a classic episode of neighbours. This afternoon we have learnt about the history of Australia, listened to a selection of Australian music and looked at Australian animals and sampled the treats we had made earlier and completed a quiz about Australia.

Rain wasn't going to stop the people who live with us on Wednesday afternoon enjoying a wonderful trip to Notcutts Dukeries Garden Centre. We enjoyed looking around the plants, ornaments, gift shop, and of course the restaurant for afternoon Tea and Cake.

To mark Cheese Lovers Day, the people who live with us enjoyed a cheese and wine afternoon where we sampled a selection of cheeses and fruits. We also discussed our favourite types of cheese and the ones we don't enjoy quite as much.

To mark Winnie the Pooh day, the people who live with us enjoyed watching Goodbye Christopher Robin, the story of AA Milne in our cinema room.

On Monday afternoon we were treated to a special visit from some little friends to the people who live with us for some multi generational activities to start off the new year, perfect for More...Connection!

Earlier this week, we were treated to a visit from the Mini zoo to celebrate a special ladies birthday. Everyone enjoyed getting to know all of the animals and learning interesting facts about them all. Perfect for More...Connection.

What a wonderful December & run up to Christmas we've had a Gateford Hill Care Home.

We enjoyed a visit from Josie from the Aurora centre who brought in memories of Christmases of years gone by (we also indulged in some black forest gateaux)

Christ church at Thievesdale visited us and we sang our favourite Christmas carols and reenacted the nativity story between us.
We have enjoyed making cards which we then exchanged with locals primary schools Gateford Park and Norbridge Academy which filled our home with lots of colour, beautiful pictures and messages that filled us with festive cheer.

We visited the Crossing Church for the Christmas special of singing with dementia with the local community and we had a very special performance of the 12 days of Christmas courtesy of the lifestyle Team and their amazing outfits and dance moves. We finished off with a wonderful party with our good friend Keeley May who had us all singing and dancing

On the 15th of December 2025 we welcomed back our furry friends the Piggies in Blankets to Gateford Hill Care Home. The people who live with us had a wonderful morning of cuddles and reminiscing of pets we have all had over the years
