Today’s announcement from the UK government on screen time guidance for under 5s is a really positive step.

While our groups are for over 18s, we see every day how screens and social media can impact mental health. When habits form early, they can shape how people connect, communicate, and feel about themselves well into adulthood. These young people are our future adults, and supporting their wellbeing from the start matters.

We absolutely recognise that screens bring many benefits — from learning to staying connected. But we firmly believe that nothing replaces genuine, human connection. Talking to a real person, being listened to, and feeling understood will always be one of the most powerful supports for our mental health.

We welcome this guidance and hope it also encourages adults to reflect on their own screen time — not only for their own wellbeing, but as an example to younger generations.

All our upcoming groups can be found on our events page and on our website:

“A penny for your thoughts…”

This well-known phrase dates back to the 16th century, first appearing in print in 1547.

At the time, a penny held real value—so offering one in exchange for someone’s thoughts was a meaningful gesture. It showed that what was on your mind mattered.

Today, we believe that idea is more important than ever.

Your thoughts are priceless. There is no cost, no measure, no limit to their value. And yet, too often, people feel they have to carry them alone.

Talking helps.
Talking saves lives.

That’s why our support groups will always be free—because everyone deserves a space where their thoughts can be heard, without barriers.

You are not alone. 💛

🌧️ For those whose mum is poorly 💛

Mother’s Day can feel complicated when your mum is unwell. It may bring worry, sadness, or fear, alongside love and gratitude.

Even in difficult times, your bond with her remains — she is still your mum, and that can never be taken away 💙.

Gentle ways to care for yourself and honour her today:

• Spend quiet, meaningful moments together
• Share memories, stories, or simple words of love
• Allow yourself to feel whatever comes, without judgment
• Treasure the time you have, however small or simple

Whether you focus on connection, reflection, or just getting through the day, your love and your role as her child remain 💛

🌼 For those longing to be a mum 💛

Mother’s Day can feel heavy when you long to be a mum. It can highlight what’s missing and stir feelings of sadness, hope, or frustration.

Even if you haven’t become a mum yet, your capacity to love and nurture is real — and that part of you is always valid 💙. Nobody can take that away.

Gentle ways to care for yourself today:
• Do something nurturing for yourself 🛁
• Avoid social media or gatherings that feel painful 📵
• Allow yourself to feel whatever comes without judgment
• Acknowledge the love you have to give, now and in the future

Whether you take quiet time for yourself or spend it with loved ones, your worth and your heart as a potential mum remain 💛
