so .. important ..!
How do you continue to do the things you love if you have a chronic condition like CFS, Long covid, Fibromyalgia or ME?
Do you schedule rest?
Do you adapt your activity?
Do you drop other things?
Do you do it for less time?
Do you ask for help
Have you changed the types of activities you do?
Do you use assistive aids?
We would love you to share you hints and tips, so that we can inspire others
Whilst I am fully recovered, I still prioritise my lifestyle so that I can do everything I want and remain healthy. I've had a really busy week, I have run a forest school for 2 days, I have travelled to Cheshire and been on a long walk with my grandchildren, I have spent a day at our allotment and tomorrow I am doing an art class over in Cheshire with mum. Some of these activities help me to recharge and rest. For example, art helps me to rest and be mindful, whilst enjoying the process. Being in nature and at my allotment helps me to calm my nervous system and process my thoughts. However, today, I am intentionally "resting". This has involved getting up a little later, reading, doing my social media posting, lying and listening to an audiobook, pottering round the house and folding clothes, putting my diffuser on and making my environment smell calming, making simple and healthy food and meditation. I no longer feel guilty for these simple acts of kindness to myself today and throughout the week. I know that this will help me to carrying on showing up for others. I would have never imagined that I could have the energy to live such a balanced and fulfilling life when I was unwell.
