💚 World Mental Health Day 2025 💚

Today we pause to remind ourselves — mental health matters just as much as physical health.

This year’s theme, “access to services — mental health in catastrophes and emergencies,” highlights how, in unstable times, being able to reach support is more vital than ever.

💬 Talk openly.
🤝 Ask for help when you need it — and offer a listening ear when someone else does.

🌟 MYTH vs REALITY: Working in Home Care 🌟

👎 Myth:
“Carers just pop in to make a cup of tea.”

👍 Reality:
Carers are lifelines. In just 30–60 minutes, they may:
✅ Help someone get washed, dressed & ready for the day
✅ Support with meals & medication
✅ Provide mobility assistance & specialist care
✅ Support with day to day domestic tasks
✅ Offer companionship & a friendly chat
✅ Notice changes and update families or professionals

💡 For many clients, their carer is the only person they’ll see that day — making kindness and connection just as important as practical support.

💜 Being a carer isn’t just a job — it’s about giving dignity, independence, and quality of life.
