🌎 We are honored to announce Yoga Gives Back’s 2025 Global Ambassadors of the Year!

💛 Sally Parkes (United Kingdom)
💛 Deepa Chemery (USA)
💛 Markus Hanna (Germany)

✨ We are deeply grateful for their leadership and dedication to advancing YGB’s mission to uplift women and children in India. Their compassion and commitment truly embody the spirit of Seva — selfless service through yoga.

✨ Introducing Ambassador of the Year: Sally Parkes (BSc, SYT, EYT500, RPYT) ✨ Sally began her wellness journey in 1998 with a background in Sport Science and personal training. Drawn to a more holistic path, she trained in yoga and pranayama and later specialized in yoga for women’s health, earning certifications in Pregnancy, Postnatal, and Well Woman Yoga Therapy. She is also a qualified Doula and Pilates teacher, and in 2010 founded The Sally Parkes Yoga School, which has now certified nearly 2,000 yoga teachers worldwide. A published author of Yoga: The Modern Essential Guide, The Yoga Healing Handbook, and The Manual of Yoga Anatomy, Sally also contributes to leading yoga publications and teaches internationally. She is the founder of Sally’s Yoga Club, an online platform supporting women’s wellbeing — with all profits donated to Yoga Gives Back, where she proudly serves as a Global Ambassador.
Based in West Sussex with her two daughters, Sally continues to teach, write, and study Exercise Physiology, focusing on improving cardiac health among menopausal women. 🌸

🕊 “I am truly honored to be part of the YGB team, let alone receive an accolade such as this. And I look forward to many more years of delivering yoga classes that not only help people feel more comfortable in their body, but also allow me to support young people’s schooling in India as well."

Join us in celebrating Sally and all our Ambassadors at the 18th Annual YGB Global Gala on November 16 at Sofitel Beverly Hills, as we honor Seva, community, and the power of yoga to transform lives. ✨

Across time and place, babywearing reflects the quiet relationship between care and daily life. From woven textiles in Africa to crafted slings in Asia and cradleboards among Indigenous peoples, each form responds to its environment and community. The practice endures today, marking a quiet continuity of human adaptation and tenderness. 🫆

💛 Deepa Chemery (USA)
💛 Markus Hanna (Germany)
💛 Sally Parkes (United Kingdom)

We are deeply grateful for their leadership and dedication in advancing Yoga Gives Back’s mission to uplift women and children in India. Their compassion and commitment truly embody the spirit of Seva — selfless service.

✨ Introducing Ambassador of the Year: Deepa Chemery! Deepa is a trauma-informed, holistic therapist specialized in various healing modalities, including yoga, somatic experiencing, mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Ayurvedic nutrition, neurofeedback therapy, Brainspotting, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She transitioned from being a software engineer to a therapist due to her immense passion for healing sciences, which stems from her personal life experiences and is inspired by her personal yoga practice.

In addition to serving as a YGB Ambassador, Deepa also brings her leadership and vision to our Board of Directors. Her dedication and action have been instrumental in advancing Yoga Gives Back’s mission to empower women and children in India through education and microloan programs.

Deepa says, "Through my alliance with YGB, I have continually discovered new gifts and explored different facets of myself. Everything I have done—and will continue to do—for YGB fulfills the Sankalpa I took when I first stepped on the mat 20 years ago. I am committed to offering my entire being in the spirit of karma yoga."

As we come to the close of - I just wanted to remind you of our next Menoyoga® training which is live online Saturday 22nd – Sunday 23rd November 2025 where we talk about how strength work can help with heart health and bone density during our midlife. 💕 I LOVE talking about strength because although we cannot always be in control of physiological change, we can be somewhat in control of our personal strength gains, and it is NEVER too late to start your personal resistance training journey. 💪
As you may know, fluctuating oestrogen levels affect muscle, bone, tendons, and the nervous system. When hormone levels drop, so does muscle mass and power output. That’s why it’s harder to build or maintain strength in midlife, especially without changing your approach. 😪
While endurance‑based or high‑rep routines are effective in improving the muscles efficiency in the utilization of oxygen as a cellular level, targeted strength work also has any benefits for us to enjoy.🙌 It can come in the form of lifting weights or enjoying weight bearing postures like Warrior II, Triangle, Half Moon, Plank and supported Bridge all of which build up balance and stability. Furthermore, breath‑led movement also supports the nervous system so it’s a win win! 🧘‍♀️

So if you you would like to join an amazing group of yoginis live online over our training to talk all things peri & meno related, with myself and as well as practice and take away some fantastic yoga practices to keep you feeling great during this time of transition  - follow the 🔗 in B.10 or drop me a DM x 💫

Shout out to all our postnatal mamas out there! How awesome and beautiful are these pictures and words on the the postnatal body by ✨️ For those who don't know, Jesy had a high risk pregnancy complicated by twin to twin transfusion syndrome, and gave birth to her twins prematurely. Its so great to see them all looking so well! 😍

I never thought it would have taken having two beautiful baby girls, that I could have potentially lost, to make me realise how incredible my body actually is. 33 years of extreme diets, 33 years of putting myself down wishing my belly was flatter, wanting my waist just a little smaller and almost going through with a b**b job, to now standing here having this photo taken.
I can honestly say I’ve never felt prouder of my body and what it has been through! Yes my b**bs hang lower and my belly is bigger and squishier - it doesnt look how it used to, but my god it created the best gift that has ever happened to me. I cannot wait to show my girls the first place they called home and the place where they defied all the odds. If there’s anything I’ve learned over the past 9 months of being pregnant, it’s that I never want my girls to feel the way I did about my body for so many years. So to all the future mummies or the mummies that have just given birth, if you’re struggling with how you are feeling in yourself or are maybe even feeling the pressure to “snap back” just take a moment to remember what YOU did! Be kinder to yourself and remember you are INCREDIBLE!!!
