The word disorder is used all too often. The ideas that you are damaged, broken or cursed are disempowering and make the anxiety experience worse.

Anxiety can feel soul-crushing, overwhelming, crippling. I understand that. When you are anxious, it feels so real. This relationship with it is completely understandable, but it is only intensifying the downward spiral.

Thinking that the anxiety is happening to you only adds to the sense of helplessness.

Your understanding of your anxiety experience is everything, because anxiety is far worse when you fear it.

In therapy, I can help you understand that your mind is working just fine. Nothing is broken. It's your relationship with your thoughts and feelings that needs to change.

I can teach you to find your way out of the fear loop, and hypnosis can hold the door open as you do so.

Curious? That's a good start. I am right here if you'd like to know more.

Ask around, and you'll realise that people experience a wide variety of feelings in their bodies as anxiety.

There is no universal anxiety feeling.

I invite you to be curious about this.

Once you label a feeling as anxiety, your mind will look for reasons to be anxious when you feel it.

This is an unhelpful form of self-hypnosis. 🙃

What if you can experience the sensation simply as a sensation?

Your mind will stop looking for reasons to explain it.

During therapy with me, you will explore ways to unhypnotise yourself from these detrimental anxiety patterns.

Please contact me through my website if you're curious to know more 😊 https://www.lifechangeexperience.co.uk/contact

As soon as you label a thought intrusive, it makes it feel more aggressive.

Your mind is probably working perfectly, but it's your relationship with it that's the problem.

Your thoughts are just information passing through. Sometimes that information is true, sometimes it is untrue. Sometimes it is useful, and other times it is not.

If you respond to a piece of information as a threat, you will feel under attack.

If you can see through this illusion, then you'll find your mind becomes a much friendlier place. I have ways of helping you do this.

If you're curious about this, please feel free to DM me, or contact me through my website https://www.lifechangeexperience.co.uk/contact.

It is a picture of a clock. ⏰
It does not tell the time.
It does not tick.
It does not tock.

A picture of a clock and ticktocking timepiece are two very different things that resemble each other.

Seems obvious, right?

If you experience excessive anxiety, then you're mistaking a thought of a threat for a threat.

Regardless how dangerous 'the thing' 🧛. The thought of 'the thing' is perfectly safe. Otherwise, horror movies would not be so popular.

Excessive anxiety happens when you learn to fear your own thoughts and feelings.

You are not ill. Your mind is working perfectly. You just need to change your relationship with your thoughts.

In session, I can help you see through this illusion.

This is a picture of me.

Nobody has ever mistaken a photo of me for me, to my knowledge.

The picture and I are two different things that resemble each other.

Seems obvious, right?

If you experience excessive anxiety, then you are mistaking a thought of a threat for a threat.

The threat and the thought of a threat are two different things, but you are experiencing them as the same.

In session, I can help you see the illusion of your excessive anxiety.

Season’s greetings to everyone who follows along here 🎄✨

As the year winds down, I’ve been quietly working behind the scenes, learning some new technologies and building something a little different for the year ahead. I’ll be creating digital resources designed to gently help with small, specific pieces of the anxiety puzzle — the kind that often get overlooked, but make a real difference.

There’s more to come, and I think many of you will find it useful.

For now, though, it’s time to pause, celebrate, and enjoy the season.
Wishing you warmth, rest, and a little lightness wherever you are.

Happy Friday, folks!
I hope you have had a beatific week🧚‍♂️? Mine has been brilliant👌.

This week I have seen someone experiencing enormous financial pressure, two someones who want to snack less, someone experiencing quite extreme social anxiety, someone experiencing ARFID (food phobia), and someone experiencing brain freeze (out of nowhere) when speaking in public.

If you know anyone struggling with any of the above, please point them in my direction for a friendly no-obligation chat. Otherwise, have a blissful😶‍🌫️ weekend!

My latest blog post takes a detailed look at anxiety and its treatment. Your anxious mind is working perfectly well; it's your relationship with those workings that is the problem and can be relearned.

Clear, practical insight into treating anxiety as normal emotion not a mental illness with hypnosis. Worthing & online.

Do you experience anxiety for no known reason? Here is my recent blog post about some of the 'hidden' reasons we uncover during hypnotherapy.

Sometimes the reason for your anxiety is obvious and sometimes it is not. This article is a Worthing hypnotherapist's exploration of hidden anxiety triggers and how he treats them.

I would usually post a pearl of wisdom at this time, but today is a simple Ahoy to you m'hearties 😊 I'm on the sea. Off to France for a week.

The ocean is a wonderful metaphor for the mind - what's happening underneath and on the surface can be two different things...but they are still inextricably linked.

I encourage looking within....looking deeper....what's going on down there that's effecting you in the surface. Be curious, not fearful.

Have fun while I'm away x
