Because You Love Me - The move into care!
So listen my loves and listen me through,
I know this is breaking the hearts of you too.
I get muddled sometimes, I lose my way,
I forget what I meant or what I might say.
You tried everything I know that’s true,
Every shortcut, every long way through.
You kept me home, you stayed up late,
You carried more than your fair share of weight.
But now it’s not safe, not for me, not for you,
And love means knowing when you can’t push through.
Because if you break, if you fall apart,
There’ll be nothing left and that’s the hardest part.
This isn’t giving up, this isn’t the end,
This is you being family, not just a friend.
It’s choosing protection, rest, and care,
So we’re all still standing, still here.
And listen, I’m safe where I’m going to be,
There are people who know how to look after me.
There’s help when I wander, hands when I’m lost,
Kind voices that soothe when my thoughts get crossed.
No cooking, no cleaning, no laundry stacks,
No burnt toast moments , imagine that!
Someone else worries, someone else plans,
While you get to breathe and just hold my hand.
I won’t be alone, so please don’t fear,
There’s company, laughter, and someone always near.
And even when my memories blur or roam,
My heart still knows you, my love, my home.
So let go of the guilt, it doesn’t belong,
You’ve been brave, you’ve been patient, you’ve been strong.
This move is made out of love, not defeat,
Out of keeping us all on our feet.
If I ask the same question again and again,
Or forget where I am or even when
