Our residents and carers had a fantastic treat this week with a very special visit 🧡

We were delighted to welcome some beautiful alpacas from Trinity Alpacas, Bosham, Chichester — and they certainly brought plenty of smiles with them.

A lovely experience for everyone involved, creating some really special moments.

Thank you to Trinity Alpacas for such a wonderful visit

🧡 A lovely trip down memory lane 🧡

Jane, one of our carers, recently took our lovely resident Margaret to watch Shrek at the Pavilion.

Margaret was also joined by a friend, making the visit even more special.
The trip brought back so many happy memories, as Margaret was once part of the Operatic Society at the Pavilion and enjoyed many shows there over the years.Moments like these are so important — reconnecting with places, people and memories that mean so much 🧡

🧡 Please support Beehive Care 🧡

Beehive is at the heart of our community — supporting people with care, kindness and dignity every day.

We recently received this lovely comment alongside a donation:
“The staff and attendees at the Lancing Hive make it a safe and comfortable environment for carers and cared for. Providing a sociable atmosphere, activities, information and the chance to make new friends — you know you’re not alone.”

This is exactly why Beehive is so important.

Every donation, no matter how small, helps them continue this vital work and support more people in our community 🧡

If you can, please consider donating:

You’ve probably seen Gary out and about in Ferring. He supports all of our Beehive sites with day-to-day maintenance, as well as managing larger projects — including the new lounge at Cornwell House.

Gary does so much behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly and is such an important part of the team — we honestly don’t know where we’d be without him

A true home away from home 🧡

At Cornwell House, we provide a safe, comfortable and supportive environment for both residents and respite guests.

We understand that caring for a loved one can be demanding, which is why we offer flexible respite care — from long stays to short stays and day-by-day support.

We’re proud to offer short-term, day-by-day respite care, giving families real flexibility and peace of mind.

If you’d like to find out more, please get in touch.

What a lovely visit we had from PCSO Provette and the cadets.

Visits like this are really important for us at Cornwell House to keep connected to our community.

Thank you Arun Police!

Earlier this month PCSO Provette, along with our police cadets, visited a local care home in Ferring.

Whilst there they spoke with residents about their experiences as cadets and gave their insight into life within policing.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity for our cadets to develop their communication skills and build confidence. They all demonstrated professionalism and a willingness to step outside their comfort zones which allowed them to have meaningful conversations with the residents.

It was a very enjoyable visit, and we are proud of the manner in which our cadets represented themselves and the wider police service. Thank you to all of the staff and residents for making us so welcome.

Another inspiring steering group for the West Sussex Dementia Network.
Great to meet at Sussex County FA thanks to sponsorship from Worthing Heat Network.

Our wonderful chair Bob Smytherman and co chair Martha Pusey led some great discussions which will be shared at the next Network meeting in April.

Please join us to hear from a panel of people with lived experience on future actions we need to take to ensure accessible and inclusive dementia communities.
