Silicrumb FR passes smoke and toxicity tests for Aerospace cabins public transport and mass transit.

Silicrumb FR ( C and S grades) already meet vertical burn self extinguishing standards and so can now be used for Aerospace, rail and mass transit applications as colour matched mouldings and extrusions to help these sectors reduce Co2 emissions with full certification.

Adpol’s 70 shore hardness Flame Retardant Silicrumb FR (Recycled Silicone Rubber) has successfully passed Aerospace 15 Sec vertical burn tests.

Our Silicrumb FR 40 grade has already passed this standard meaning we can now offer 40, 50, 60 and 70 shore flame retardant extrusions and mouldings in recycled Silicone Rubber.

Another global first.

Flame retardant Silicone Rubber components are used in Aerospace, Rail, MOD, Mass transit and saftey door/encloseure seal applications.

With an increasing number of customers in these sectors striving to meet sustainability and green targets this should be a welcome new, certified material to use.

Smoke release and toxicity tests are underway.

Adpol is proud to announce a global first in being able to mechanically recycle and reuse Silicone Rubber successfully in production.

We are already working with a number of firms in the life science aerospace and fashion sectors to find manufacturing opportunities to keep some of the 8.8million tons of silicone produced a year from ending up in landfill.

As Innovate Grant winners we have been supported in the development and testing of a flame retardant grade for the Aerospace and public transport sectors…

After 2 years in development we are pleased to officially launch Silicrumb. The first commercially available recycled Silicone Rubber option for extrusions, mouldings, gaskets and seals.

This is the first step toward keeping hundreds of tons of Silicone Rubber out of landfill, and reducing the environmental impact of making and shipping fresh Silicone Rubber bases.
