If you suffer with Seasonal allergies, these reflex points may help alleviate symptoms.

For rounded areas use a press and rotate thumb technique and for other areas use a caterpillar like thumb technique.

There are many other points that may help and these are included in a full Reflexology session.

I've been using this in my oil blend and diffuser in the treatment room this week. Many of my clients are transitioning through this time and Pink Grapefruit is one of the oils I choose alongside, lavender, clary sage and ylang Ylang. 👣

Pink grapefruit essential oil is commonly used in aromatherapy to manage several menopausal and perimenopausal symptoms, primarily by enhancing mood, increasing energy, and assisting with stress management.

Its uplifting scent and active components, such as limonene, help address the emotional and physical sluggishness often experienced during this transition.

Before using at home, please consult a doctor if you are on HRT.

Avoid ylang ylang if you have low blood pressure.

Safety doesn't require self-abandonment

Over time, healing usually involves learning things like:

“I can have needs too.”

“Conflict doesn’t always mean danger.”

“Someone else’s emotions aren’t my responsibility to manage.”

That’s the retraining layer.

It involves:
boundaries
self-trust
relational repair
sometimes therapy or coaching

Calming the nervous system doesn’t automatically change appeasement patterns, but it gives us the regulation and awareness we need to start making different choices in relationships.

In dangerous situations flight mode is doing exactly what it is supppsed to do, even if there is no visable signs of danger our bodies can percieve a threat before our mind can catch up.

But sometimes flight mode can show up when it is reacting to a conditioned response that avoids discomfort and it would be better to move through the moment whilst regulating the nervous system.

So next time flight response shows up, it can be helpful to ask yourself...

"Is my safety at risk right now?
Or am I uncomfortable, embarrassed, or stressed?"

If safety = YES → flight is appropriate.
If safety = NO, but discomfort = high → regulate, don’t run.

How to regulate when your body wants to flee but you don’t actually need to

Try:
Slow, deep diaphragmatic breathing
Naming what you’re feeling: “This is anxiety, not danger.”

Grounding (5 senses method) 5 things you can see, 5 things you can hear, 5 things you can smell, 5 things you can touch/feel, 5 things you can taste.

Relaxing shoulders, jaw, and hands

Taking a short break rather than disappearing from the situation
