Meet our nurse, Marja.

She still has some appointments available tomorrow (Friday, 14th Nov) for blood tests and health checks.

Marja has years of phlebotomy and cannulation experience, including taking blood under extreme pressure, where she has to act fast and effectively, such as in a resuscitation environment.

At our clinic in Rossett, it is a relaxed, calm environment, but her expertise and extensive experience in different settings mean you can rest assured you are in the best of hands.

Did you know that skin conditions are one of the most common reasons for GP visits?

However, as skin conditions are rarely considered urgent, unfortunately, waiting times to see your doctor can be long.

Patients are often asked for photographs and diagnosed without being seen.

Most skin patients don't want a telephone appointment. They want to see a doctor in person.

To add to the frustration, unless your GP has a special interest in dermatology, you might find they can't help and you are then referred on to a dermatologist. Leaving you with an even longer wait to see a specialist who can help.

At Bridge House Clinic, our specialist dermatologist is available to see patients with or without a GP referral.

Today is World Stroke Day

There will be numerous posts today focused on ACT FAST about how to spot the signs of a stroke and the importance of getting medical treatment as a quickly as possible.

This is so important, but we also wanted to focus on the steps people can take to reduce their risk of having a stroke

The Stroke Association recommends the following lifestyle changes
🚭Stop smoking
🏃‍♀️ Be more active
🚰 Reduce alcohol and only drink alcohol within the recommended limits
🍎Eat a healthy diet
⚖️Maintain a healthy weight

They also recommend regular check-ups to see if you have any risk factors, such as
- High blood pressure
- Diabetes
- High cholesterol
- Atrial fibrillation

Our specialist pain consultant, Dr Khafaga offers Qutenza pain relief patch treatments at our clinic in Rossett.

This innovative approach isn't widely available and has proved effective in providing prolonged pain relief for a range of types of pain, including:
- Peripheral Neuropathy pain
- Post-chemotherapy neuropathy pain
- Complex regional pain syndrome
- Mastectomy pain (anterior chest wall pain)
- C-section pain
- Hernia surgery pain
- Post-surgical pain
- Post-herpetic pain (ongoing pain after shingles)
