We wanted to say a massive thank you to the Wrexham County Borough Council Highways Team, who ensured we were able to get to and from our premises throughout the day, despite it being the Christmas Light Switch On and Lantern Parade event πŸŽ„βœ¨οΈ We really appreciate your help and support today πŸ™πŸ»

We did have a little look around the market this morning, and of course, went to visit the lovely guy who owns wxmrawdogfoods to buy our usual dog treats. As always, the dog loved them πŸ‘ŒπŸ» Unfortunately, we missed the light switch on this evening, but we did get these pictures before going back home πŸ™‚ We hope that everybody had a great time at the event today, even if the weather was a bit poor β˜”οΈ And we hope that Nightingale House Hospice managed to raise a lot of funds today too.

This morning we joined the people of Wrexham to remember and honour those who served in the Armed Forces. On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, the air raid siren sounded. The two minutes silence then begun.

On the way back from checking on those in our care, we decided to go to the Cenotaph to see all of the wreaths laid out after today's Remembrance Service. In the distance, we could see St. Giles Church all lit up in red, and although we had seen photos of it on Facebook, we had to go and see it for ourselves. It looks absolutely amazing in person, especially with the poppies circulating on the tower. If you haven't been to see it, we highly recommend that you do πŸ™‚

This morning, we attended the Remembrance Service in Wrexham, which was beautifully led as always. Well done to all who were in the parade πŸ‘πŸ» You all did amazing, especially the little ones.

We will also be attending the Armistice Day Service on Queens Square in Wrexham on Tuesday, 11th November, to remember all those who gave their lives, so that we can have ours today.

πŸ’° πŸ’° πŸ’° Fake bank notes in circulation πŸ’° πŸ’° πŸ’°

We have had a number of reports in recent weeks of fake bank notes, in particular Β£20 notes in circulation in the Wrexham area. They have been used in transactions for small values where change is given, particularly in local stores and in taxis.

At first glance they look similar to the genuine one, but on closer inspection they feel very plasticky and crinkly like a crisp packet and some have 'prop money' on the face side.

North Wales Police advise all businesses to thoroughly check bank notes before taking them from customers. We've included a link to the Bank of England website below where there are a number of videos and booklets showing how to distinguish between genuine and fake notes. Please report any fake notes that you receive via 101 or via webchat on our website.
