We also have a team of engineers providing 24-hour emergency call-out cover for a number of NHS Trusts and nursing homes. For months, the stairs had become more than just steps.

For our lovely client, who is on constant oxygen, they had become a daily barrier. Breathlessness made climbing upstairs exhausting and overwhelming. Eventually, it meant giving up her bedroom and sleeping downstairs.

Something as simple as going to bed in your own room had become out of reach.

Sometimes small changes in how someone sits can make a big difference to their comfort and wellbeing.

You might notice:

• Struggling to stay upright
• Complaints of discomfort
• Redness or concerns around pressure areas

The right seating can help someone feel more supported, secure, and comfortable throughout the day.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice, and cold conditions in North Wales from this evening into tomorrow morning.

We encourage people to check on those who are vulnerable or living alone. The cold weather increases the risk of hypothermia, especially amongst the elderly, as well as increasing the risk of injury such as slipping or falling in icy conditions.

We ask you to check the information on your Local Health Services website to ensure you access care and support at the most appropriate place when you need it. There are a range of services available, such as NHS 111 Wales, our minor injury units and pharmacies, that can be accessed qu**ky and without an appointment.

If you’re out and about over the next few days ensure you wrap up warm and wear appropriate footwear as some pavements could be icy and increase the chances of slips and falls.

Yesterday, Jack attended the Ageing Well Wrexham event at Tŷ Pawb. A fantastic day celebrating the amazing services and support available for people aged 50+ across Wrexham.

It was great to see so many organisations in one place, all working towards healthier, happier communities. Jack enjoyed meeting local groups, learning more about what’s available, and hearing directly from people about what matters most.
