I’m a PT but I have a coach myself…..
Not because I cant’ train myself —
but because I know I won’t get the best out of myself doing it alone.
1. A coach gives an outside eye to my training, removes any ego and takes decision making away. I just have to show up and follow the plan
2. A coach gives me accountability and it’s an investment in myself. I’m paying for it which means I’m more likely to stick with it.
3. I tell clients and others that having guidance, structure and accountability matter so why wouldn’t I do the same?!
4. A coach makes my training purposeful I’m not just doing a session for the sake of it. It keeps me on track and aligned to my own goals. Also stops me from just doing the training I like. You have to do the hard stuff/ stuff you don’t like sometimes to get where you want.
Being coached keeps me in check.
There was a point 2 months ago where I debated having a break from coaching (injury related) but I stuck it out and to be honest I saw even more value in it during this time. My coach kept me grounded, kept me ticking along and more importantly stopped me from pushing too hard too soon and now training is getting back to where it was.
Coaches need coaches too. 👊🏼
