The FINAL Breathe, Move, Meditate group meeting is on February 25th, and I hope to see you there!

This decision to end the group has not been easy. Attendance post-covid has been significantly lower, and the costs have become unsustainable. I wanted to see it thrive again, but it’s time to close this chapter.

The final session will be a chance to reconnect and say goodbye. I continue to offer 1-to-1 (or 2-to-1) bespoke sessions for anyone who wants to explore their practice further.

I appreciate your understanding, and I'm here to discuss how this affects you.

Details for the FINAL meeting:
- Date: Wednesday, February 25th
- Time: 7 PM - 9 PM
- Location: Rossett Village Hall, Station Road, ROSSETT LL12 0HE

When was the last time you took 30 minutes just for yourself? Remember, reading can be incredibly beneficial for your mental health—it reduces stress, improves focus, and nurtures empathy through engaging stories. Plus, it provides a healthy escape, helps slow your heart rate, eases muscle tension, and can even improve sleep.

What’s your favourite book or author? Share in the comments—we can always add more to our bookshelves!

Being a people pleaser can negatively affect your mental health, leading to anxiety, depression, and emotional burnout. Neglecting your own needs often results in low self-esteem and difficulties in forming authentic relationships.

If you're struggling to break these patterns, reaching out to a mental health professional can be incredibly helpful. Counselling can help you uncover the root causes of people-pleasing and provide strategies for a healthier balance in your life.

Blue Monday, the third Monday in January, is known as one of the toughest days of the year. If you’re feeling down, remember you’re not alone.

Ways to boost your well-being:

To lift your spirits, consider these methods to enhance oxytocin and dopamine:

- Oxytocin: Practice self-kindness, mindfulness meditation, and get enough sleep. Reach out to someone and express gratitude.
- Dopamine: Engage in physical activity, eat healthy foods, try something new, and celebrate small achievements.

There’s always hope. If you need support, please reach out for a counselling session at 07530 553983. You deserve to feel better.

Every year, I attend a silent retreat, not just for my mindfulness credentials but because I find it rejuvenating. We practice techniques like 'mindfulness of breathing' and 'metta bhavana,' fostering an environment of love and compassion.

Since returning home, I've enjoyed complimenting strangers on their shoes or hats. Their smiles create wonderful connections, and research shows that small acts of kindness can boost our mental well-being and community spirit.

During tough times with isolation and depression, I committed to reaching out to three people daily, which made a significant difference. I encourage you to share open-hearted kindness with a simple greeting or smile; it could brighten both your day and someone else’s.

January often comes with a heavy heart for many, and it's not uncommon to feel down during this time. It's been referred to as "the Monday of all months" because, for a lot of us, it can be the most challenging month of the year.

There are various reasons behind this lingering sadness—perhaps it’s the scarcity of sunlight or the chill in the air that weighs us down.

To help ease the January blues, here are a few gentle reminders:

- Be kind to yourself; it's okay to not feel your best.
- Embrace the daylight when it’s available; even a little sunshine can lift your spirits.
- Prioritise getting around 8 hours of sleep each night—rest is essential for our well-being.
- Consider unplugging from technology in the evenings and reaching for a good book instead; this can provide a comforting escape.

If you find that you're struggling, please know that you're not alone.

‘Doomscrolling’ refers to the tendency to continuously scroll through a stream of negative news on social media. While some people find a certain comfort in this habit, it can often lead to feelings of anxiety, anger, or overwhelm.

Social media algorithms influence what we see, but we have the power to adjust our feeds and seek out more positive content. If your social media experience feels heavy or draining, please know that there are resources available to help you take back control.

During this festive time, I encourage you to take a break from doomscrolling. Consider leaving your phone at home for a while and enjoy a refreshing walk instead! Connecting with nature can be a wonderful way to lift your spirits.
