Thank you to everyone who supported our Christmas Fair today. We had a lovely atmosphere, thank you to everyone who ran a stall, and to Leanne, Tina, Paula and Joy for all your hard work! And of course an extra special thank you to Santa, we know you are super busy this time of year.

We had so much fun this week that we forgot to post! The fantastic Angela Bishop of Reminiscence East came to visit us for a fab afternoon of 60s fashion, music and much more! We loved it and some fabulous stories about modelling and celebrities!! We can’t wait to welcome Angela back

We have such a great team at Sutherlands, two of our wonderful carers kept this quiet as last week they undertook the Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walk! Always thinking and caring for our residents! Sunday lunch is such a big tradition for all, and here we have to cater for all diets including texture modified diets where food must be prepared to an exact puréed level. It was roast chicken and stuffing today with all the trimmings! Can you tell which one of these plates is the texture modified one? They both look yummy to us!!

On a glorious Sunday afternoon we are excited to be starting on an outside project for autumn (well it is the 1st September!) we have a compost bin all ready to go so we can sweep up our autumn leaves along with food waste and start making our own compost which will help us grow the small kitchen garden we have planned. A way for residents to enjoy ‘pottering’ in the garden along with some sustainable initiatives here at Sutherland. Waste not want not!
