I am a qualified, experienced, and friendly Hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner based in Wymondham, Norwich, Norfolk. I use a combination of Hypnosis, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and many other tried and tested Hypnotherapy and associated techniques to help clients achieve beneficial positive change. In addition to hypnotherapy, I also hold regular online and face-to-face mindfulness and meditation classes that clients have found useful in helping to install new patterns of behaviour. I've successfully worked with many clients helping them to realise and achieve their full potential. To help them overcome debilitating issues such as high-level anxiety and stress, addictions and compulsions, lack of confidence and self-esteem, weight gain, smoking, and many other issues that affect everyday lives. I wonder if anyone has heard of an A.W.E. walk?
An A.W.E.(Attention, Wait, Exhale) walk is a 15–30 minute stroll that helps to reduce anxiety and worry by shifting focus away from repetitive, internal thoughts.
How to do it:
1. Before you start, take a few deep, equal breaths to help ground yourself into the present.
2. Shift your focus between the vast, the sky or horizon, tall architecture etc. and the minute, the texture of tree bark, the patterns on a leaf.
3. Notice the air on your skin and the rhythmic sound of your footsteps. Stop to listen to sounds that are far away versus those that are close.
4. Compare how you felt before and after your A.W.E. walk

Why It Works
Scientific research shows that people who take regular A.W.E walks report a greater sense of joy and a sense of "small self"—a healthy perspective shift where personal worries feel less overwhelming compared to the vastness of the world.

We’ve all heard the phrase “keep your chin up”, but did you know there are both physical and psychological reasons for doing so?

Here’s something for you to try: if safe to do so, allow your head and eyes to drop and look down. Take a moment to notice how you feel.
Now, with your head in a neutral position facing forward, keep your head still and look up with your eyes. Don’t overstrain, and if outside, don’t look directly at the sun. Once again, notice how you feel.

Lifting your gaze provides a powerful shift in both physical health and mental perspective. Looking up can quieten the brain's stress response and lower cortisol levels. It aids memory recall and allows for visual thinking. It can boost alertness, creative thinking, and concentration, along with improved self-confidence and a sense of happiness. It also improves breathing and posture.

Excessive looking down often signals introspection, rumination, negative self-talk, and even insecurity.

If you don’t look up, you may not see the lamppost you’re about to walk into.

Here’s an interesting experiment.
Take a moment to look around you and identify everything you can see that is coloured red.
Now, close your eyes, and list everything you spotted whilst looking around that was coloured yellow – tricky isn’t it.
The Reticular Activating System (RAS) is a bundle of nerves in the brainstem that act as a gatekeeper, filtering millions of bits of data. It highlights what you focus on, essentially making it a "search engine" for your beliefs and goals.
Often, especially when experiencing anxiety, we only look for negatives.

If we only focus on one colour, we’ll never get the opportunity to see the rainbow.

Spent a wonderful few hours this afternoon attempting to make a masterpiece out of clay. I can't quite decide what it is, and indeed what it's going to be used for but then sometimes it's the journey rather than the destination that's important.
A big thank you to Emma at Brick Kiln Pottery for her patience and wisdom.
