Really good to think ahead to the festive season and how youโ€™re going to manage breastfeeding whether thatโ€™s escaping the hustle and bustle to a quiet room stashed with mince pies and quality street or been assertive with Aunty Ethel that you really do need your baby back now and are going to feed her ๐Ÿ˜Š oh yes and perhaps a big napkin to catch any mashed potato that falls on babyโ€™s head as you eat your Xmas dinner whilst breastfeeding ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿคฑ๐Ÿฝ

In light of recent news, we would like to highlight that the Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has confirmed that taking paracetamol during pregnancy remains safe and there is no evidence that it causes autism in children.

You can also take the usual recommended doses of paracetamol if you are breastfeeding. Find more information in our Pain Relief (Analgesics) factsheet:

If you need information on taking any medication while breastfeeding, please contact our The Breastfeeding Network Drugs in Breastmilk Service team on Facebook or via email: druginformation@breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk

If you are unsure about taking any medication when you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you can also talk to your GP, health visitor, or midwife.

๐Ÿ“ข Better leave = safer sleep for babies ๐Ÿ’ค

UK statutory paternity leave is just two weeks โ€” the least generous in Europe. Yet longer leave helps parents rest, recover, and follow safer sleep guidance. Weโ€™re backing The Dad Shift's call for longer paternity leave.

The government is reviewing paternity leave and pay now, and they want to hear from parents and carers.

If youโ€™re a parent, carer, bereaved family member or simply someone who wants to support babies and their families, please have your say today ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://bit.ly/4fAR67r

We can work together to ensure families are better supported, and are given a safer start to life.
