We’re proud to welcome Malcolm Knowles (Mal) to David Knowles Funeral Service as one of our new Funeral Service Operatives.

Mal is my eldest brother and after an incredible 30 year career with Cleveland Police, much of it served as a Fi****ms Officer, he has chosen to continue serving people in a different way following his retirement.

Living locally in Yarm, Mal wants to give something back to the community that has always meant so much to him. For us, it makes perfect sense as our funeral service is built on Dignity and Kindness and Mal brings those values in abundance.

We’re incredibly proud to have him by our side as we continue to support families with dignity, compassion and respect when they need it most.

Welcome to the family business, Mal.

We received this lovely review over the weekend.

Thank you so much, Tasha, Luke and family for your incredibly kind and thoughtful words.

It truly means a great deal to me that you felt supported and cared for during such a difficult time. It was an honour to look after your Dad and to help create the service you wanted for him. Every family and every farewell is unique and I’m always grateful for the trust placed in me to help get those details right, especially when emotions are raw and decisions are hard.

I’m very glad I was able to support you within your budget and still provide the care and dignity your Dad deserved. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience; it means more than you know.

With warmest regards

David

May this Christmas bring you moments of comfort, cherished memories and peace.
From our family to yours, we wish you a safe and gentle Christmas and a beautiful New Year.

FIRST CHRISTMAS IN HEAVEN 💗
It’s my first Christmas in heaven,
I’ve been dreading it all through the year.
Knowing that you will be lonely,
lost to the joy and the cheer.
I’ve been sending sweet robins to find you, and feathers have brought you my love.
I’ve been whispering secrets to raindrops, hoping you’ll hear me above.
It’s my first Christmas in heaven,
it’s a wonderful place to exist…
And the only sadness that finds me,
is wishing I wasn’t so missed.
Because if you look closely, you’ll see me, in every small thing that you do.
I’m the joy that sneaks in through the window, when you stop to admire the view.
I’m the laughter that gasps from your sadness when your soul frees itself from this pain.
I’m the comfort that warms through your blanket as you wrap yourself up from the rain.
It’s my first Christmas in heaven,
and they told me that this would be tough.
All I can do, is remind you, you’re loved and I’ll pray, every day, it’s enough.
