Are you suffering from jaw pain, headaches, or clicking when you chew?
You might be experiencing TMJ disorder — a common issue that affects the jaw joint and surrounding muscles.
We’ve found that massage therapy can be one of the most effective and non-invasive ways to relieve TMJ pain and restore comfort.
🌟How it works:
Massage helps release tight muscles in your jaw, neck, and shoulders, easing pain and improving movement.
🌟What is a Temporomandibular Joint Disorder?
Temporomandibular disorder (TMJ) is a condition affecting the
movement of the jaw. It's not usually serious and generally gets
better on its own.
🌟Symptoms of TMJ include:
• pain around your jaw, ear and temple
• clicking, popping or grinding noises when you move your jaw
• a headache around your temples
• difficulty opening your mouth fully
• your jaw locking when you open your mouth
• The pain may be worse when chewing and when you feel
stressed.
• TMJ can also stop you getting a good night's sleep.

Further information on TMJ can be found here https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/temporomandibular-disorder-tmd/

🌟What to expect from your massage:
After assessing your TMJ, the treatment sessions will target pain and/or tension points around the shoulders, neck, head and jaw to help relax and realign the area.
The treatment will incorporate a range of advanced techniques such as trigger point therapy, STR, and myofascial release. Most people notice an improvement in comfort and movement even after a few sessions.

💚 Massage is increasingly being recognised as a legitimate health tool, offering physical, emotional and neurological benefits. This article highlights how research suggests that massage therapy can help reduce chronic pain, improve blood-flow and vascular function, and foster a shift into the parasympathetic “rest and repair” nervous-system state. On the emotional side, caring touch triggers endorphin release, lowers anxiety and supports well-being — particularly for people who experience little physical contact. The article summarises that while more rigorous trials are needed, experts say massage should shift from being seen as an “alternative” to a mainstream health intervention, and that even simple self- or partner-massage can bring meaningful benefits.

While they can be seen as a luxury, massages are often part of healthcare – here’s how they affect physical and mental health
