We usually have about 30 minutes to get people up, washed, creamed and dressed, hoisted, use of toilet, house work such as laundry and washing up, food preparation, sometimes feeding an individual, medication, and much more and our wages work out that we earn £5 doing all that! We help people with mobility and speech, we literally help people walk and talk again and keep their life at a high standard!!
I’m one of your so called UNSKILLED workers. I am a carer/support worker and I’m now in the frontline of corona virus. I’m looking after a vulnerable population, the same population that is high risk. To do MY unskilled job I have to have yearly training BY LAW, yes YOURS and your peers LEGISLATION, but IM UNSKILLED? I HAVE to know bylaw infection control BUT I’m UNSKILLED? I take care of people everyday, I check skin integrity but I’m UNSKILLED?I give medication daily, many of those are CONTROLLED but, Im UNSKILLED I’m the one that’s there when no one else is. Would you like me to take care of one of your loved ones? I would because I CARE, as do my fellow carers and that MR Johnson is a SKILL that can’t be trained with a university degree, it a DEGREE in humanity, we are probably more SKIlLLED because we do at least 50 jobs in one day in a life of being a support worker
All carers I’m with you and thank you for what WE do everyday as unskilled workers ###x

Rare that I share stuff like this but....

I'm fully vaccinated. No, I don't know "what's in it". Neither this vaccine nor the ones I had as a child. Nor do I know what's in the 11 secret herbs and spices at KFC.

I also don't know exactly what's in Ibuprofen or any other painkiller-- they just treat my headaches & my pains.

I don't know what's in tattoo ink, botox and fillers, or every ingredient in my soap, shampoo or deodorants. I don’t know the long term effect of mobile phone use, or whether or not that restaurant I just ate at REALLY used clean foods and washed their hands.

There's a lot of things I don't know.

I do know one thing: life is short. Very short. And I, personally, still want to do things. I want to travel and hug people without fear, and find a little feeling of life "before".

Throughout my life I've been vaccinated against many diseases. Measles, mumps, rubella, polio, chickenpox, hepatitis, influenza, tetanus. We trusted the science, and never had to suffer through or transmit any of those said diseases.

I'm vaccinated. Not because I’m a sheep or to please the government. Not to make other people do it. But I don't want to:
* die from Covid-19
* clutter a hospital bed if I get sick
* not be able to hug my loved ones
* not be able to travel & enjoy events
* live my life in fear

Hi My name is Ali and I am a sole trader based in Yeovil. I offer a range of very personalised and individually tailored social and practical supports to vulnerable adults who may need that little bit of extra help.
I have a wealth of experience supporting people for the past 10 years. During this time I have worked with people with learning disability, autism, down syndrome and people with mental health needs as well as elderly people who lives in their home, residential house and care homes.
I've many qualifications Care Certificate, NVQ2, NVQ3, now Studying on NVQ5 and other 25 mandatory training certificates up to date. A range of services and supports I can provide to your love ones in their own home or in the community such as helping with managing finances. Helping with household chores, Helping with Shopping or accompanying and Accessing community facilities. Transport and accompaniment to medical, benefits, or other appointments, Respite for family members, Personal care, support worker, PA, Day trips out on a 1 to 1. Bringing new things people and creating friendships and support networks for individuals who need it.
The supports on offer from me are available on weekdays and the occasional evening and weekend basis if the need arises. I am able to work with people who have personal budgets and people who finance their own support.
I can work with people with a wide range of needs including
People living with a learning and/or physical disability.People living with mental health needs.People living with autism and Asperger Syndrome.People living with dementia. Older people.People who may be vulnerable and need a little extra help for other reasons.
