Patients in Somerset with symptoms of breast cancer can self-refer to our specialist breast diagnostic clinic, without needing to see a GP!

In the last nine months since its launch, over 600 people with worrying symptoms, such as a breast lump, have self-referred directly to our breast diagnostic clinic, speeding up cancer diagnosis and freeing up valuable GP appointments.

By seeing patients as quickly as possible, we are able to provide reassurance quickly during what can be an anxious and worrying time, or provide treatment to those who need it much sooner.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK - if you think you may be experiencing symptoms such as a lump, change of skin such as dimpling or redness, or a change in size or shape of your breast, you can self-refer via NHS 111 online or the NHS App. NHS England

Vaccination in Pregnancy

Some vaccines, such as the inactivated seasonal flu vaccine and the whooping cough vaccine, are recommended during pregnancy to protect the health of you and your baby. An inactivated vaccine does not contain a live version of the virus it is protecting against.

Some vaccines, such as the tetanus vaccine, are perfectly safe to have during pregnancy if necessary.

Find out about vaccines in pregnancy – recommended ones, travel ones, and those best to avoid until after you've had your baby.

Migraine means disruption. From daily activities to big life goals, migraine can stop people in their tracks.

Migraine means feeling let down. By the healthcare system. By employers. By society. By your own brain.

Migraine means missing out. From loved ones’ birthday celebrations to career progression, migraine means missed opportunities.

Migraine means so much more than ‘just a headache’. Help us reach more people, and change the perception of migraine, by getting involved.

The Migraine Trust is dedicated to helping people affected by migraine. We are the only UK migraine charity providing information and support, campaigning for awareness and change, and funding and promoting research.
