Somerset Parent Carer Forum, is for parent's and carer's of 0-25 years old with an additional need or disability. We shape the services locally and nationally with parent carers, by giving you the opportunity to have your say. We have a 'finding your way' online guide and opportunities to meet like minded parents and carers, to feel less isolated, share strategies, sharing information and to feel empowered. 🌷 We’re excited for our second Chill & Chat in Crewkerne this Wednesday! 💬☕

We’re teaming up with The Parent Place to bring you a joint monthly group designed to be relaxed, welcoming, and a safe space for parents to connect, unwind, and support one another.

We’re also thrilled to share that our amazing volunteer reps Leanne and Jade will be joining the group! 🌼

Whether you’d like a cuppa, a chat, or simply a calm moment to yourself, all parents are welcome.

We’d absolutely love to see you there. 🙂

🎶 Evolve Music Sound Lab Yeovil 🎶

Sound Lab Yeovil is a fun, inclusive and interactive music‑making programme for young people aged 14+ with neurological differences and/or learning disabilities.
These welcoming sessions give participants the chance to explore music in a relaxed, supportive environment, through improvisation, songwriting, music technology, instrumental performance, and engaging musical games using both traditional instruments and accessible technologies.

Sound Lab Yeovil is all about creativity, self‑expression and enjoying music in ways that work for each individual, in a space where everyone’s musical voice is valued.

Looking for a relaxed, friendly space to connect with other parent carers? Our online Chill & Chat is a welcoming drop-in where you can share thoughts, ask questions, or simply enjoy a chat with others who understand.

📢 Somerset Wheelchair Users – Your Voice Matters.

We have been asked to share that Medequip Community Equipment Service , in partnership with service commissioners, is establishing a forum for wheelchair users in Somerset.

If you would like to contribute to the review and development of the Wheelchair Service, please contact Clive Rymer at: clive.rymer@medequip-uk.com

🗓 The first meeting is planned for April 2026 and will be held via Microsoft Teams.
If you are unable to access Teams, please let me know so we can arrange an alternative.

If you are interested in shaping the future of wheelchair services in Somerset, please register your interest as soon as possible so we can include you in the initial meeting and future updates.

Are you a parent or carer of a child with additional needs or disabilities? You’re not alone. Join us at our Minehead Chill & Chat Group a safe, welcoming space to grab a coffee, have a chat, and connect with others who truly get it. Our rep Richard will be there to welcome you 🙂

The CIA Team's Polden Bower Family Club is on this Saturday and welcomes all families with children who have disabilities and/or additional needs. Siblings are welcome too!

🗓 Saturday 7th March
🕙 10am–1pm
📍 Polden Bower School, Bridgwater
💷 £3 per child – no booking needed!

Expect a morning full of crafts, games, sensory play, and more in a warm, welcoming environment.

Do you have more than one neurodivergent child in your household? If so, you’ve probably experienced moments where their needs clash, maybe you have a seeker and an avoider who constantly collide, or perhaps family days out feel like more stress than they’re worth.

📣Reminder: Our Hang Out Hub is next Tuesday – 10th February

We’re so excited to welcome you to our Hang Out Hub, a monthly youth group for children aged 8 to 12 years with additional needs and/or disabilities.
First session is FREE, then just £2 per session.

This is a safe, friendly space where children can make friends, have fun, and just be themselves.

What to Expect:
🎨 Creative crafts
🎲 Fun games
🧸 Soft play & quiet room access
💬 A warm, welcoming team

💡 Open to ALL children in Somerset with additional needs and/or disabilities, you don’t need to attend Fairmead School to join.

📌 Important: Parents or guardians are kindly asked to stay for the session. Spaces are limited to keep things calm and supportive.

There is still time to book your place we have a limited spaces available.

Start the Easter holidays with us at Magdalen Farm! If you have a child or young person with SEND (up to age 25) who loves being outdoors, this day is for you.
Enjoy hands‑on time with the animals, explore nature, and take part in a fun Easter egg hunt. Every child will receive a prize for taking part!
