❄️ This winter will be tough for many local residents, with poor transport links and long, dark days making it harder than ever for people to get out and about.

That’s why our Slinky Bus Service and Volunteer Car Scheme are so important — helping neighbours stay connected, get to essential appointments, and feel less isolated. 🚐💙

If you think you could spare even one day a week to be a volunteer car driver, we’d love to hear from you.
Your time could make a huge difference to someone right here in our community.

🎄 CHRISTMAS CLOSING TIMES 🎄

After what has been an incredibly busy and demanding year, Yeovil ShopMobility will be taking a well-earned break over Christmas to give our small team of staff and volunteers some much-needed rest and time with their families.

After working tirelessly all year, through the challenges of rebuilding and keeping the service running, it feels important to pause, recharge, and come back ready for another year of helping our community stay mobile and independent.

ShopMobility will be closed from
Tuesday 23rd December and reopen on Tuesday 6th January 2026.

From all of us at Yeovil ShopMobility, Staff, Volunteers and Trustees, thank you for your continued kindness, patience and loyalty throughout 2025. Your encouragement keeps us going more than you know.

Wishing you all a warm, peaceful and very Merry Christmas, and a happy, healthy New Year!

💙 What a week for Yeovil Shopmobility, we really needed this! 💙

On Saturday we held our Table Top Sale at The Old Barn Club and raised a fantastic £291.25 🎉 Every penny that will go towards helping us keep people in Yeovil mobile and independent.

It was such a lovely day, full of laughter, cake, coffee, and great company. A huge thank you to:

✨ Keira for the gorgeous cakes
✨ Karen for the plant donations
… and of course all our stallholders, family, friends, and supporters, you know who you are 💕

And the good news doesn’t stop there… we were also awarded funding from the The National Lottery Community Fund 🙌 This continued support from them is such a lifeline for our small charity, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

Thank you to everyone one who came, supported, donated, and joined in, we had an absolute blast (and yes, spent plenty at the stalls too! 😂).

Yeovil ShopMobility is a small local charity which exists to promote the welfare and independence of people with disabilities and those whose mobility is limited by age or illness. We provide a hire service of powered scooters, chairs and manual wheelchairs for both short and long term hire.

🌟 A Huge Thank You to Mendip Mobility! 🌟

We want to say a massive thank you to Mendip Mobility for their continued support in keeping our scooters in excellent working order. They are the trusted company that services, repairs, and maintains all of our mobility equipment — and we honestly couldn’t do this without them.

Our most recent scooter (pictured below!) is a perfect example of their kindness and generosity. When the motor broke on one of our scooters and the cost of replacing it was far too high for us as a small charity, we thought we’d have to scrap it. But thanks to Mendip Mobility, they managed to build a fully functional scooter using good parts from our original and their own, saving us hundreds and ensuring our customers can continue getting out and about independently.

If any of our customers are ever in need of repairs, servicing, or advice about mobility scooters, we can’t recommend Mendip Mobility enough. They are reputable, trustworthy, and genuinely care about their community.

They also have a brilliant showroom full of mobility equipment for sale. Pop up and say hi to the lovely team at Forrest Hill, Yeovil!
