SLM Therapy Counselling and Coaching Hello, and a warm welcome to SLM therapy, My name is Sally and I am an Integrative Therapist and Coach.

I offer counselling sessions, and coaching for adults, either face-to-face, online, or by telephone. Online sessions can be held on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet. Face to face sessions take place in York, however, if you are in North Yorkshire please get in touch as I have venues available in other locations, by prior arrangement. I am a fully qualified counsellor, working as an Integrative Therapist and Coach. In addition to my core counselling training, I have done further training in Coaching, Transactional Analysis and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I am an individual member of the BACP and follow their ethical framework. I am also an accredited member of the NCPS, and use their guidelines to underpin my practice. I am fully insured and have an enhanced DBS certificate, and have regular clinical supervision.

🎉 SLM Therapy is 1! 🎉

One year ago, I took the leap and opened the doors to my private practice — not fully knowing what to expect, but deeply trusting the process. Today, I’m celebrating a year filled with growth, courage, and countless moments of connection. 💛

Over the past 12 months, I have:

🕰️ Held 317 client hours
🗂️ Logged 256 admin hours (the often-invisible work that keeps everything going)
🧠 Completed 19.5 hours of supervision
📚 Invested 42 hours in CPD training

Behind each number is a story — of trust, healing, challenge, and change. I am genuinely honoured to walk alongside the people who choose to sit with me in the therapy space. Every session is a reminder of the strength, vulnerability, and resilience that lives in us all.

Running a small business comes with its own steep learning curve, but it’s also brought me so much joy and pride. Thank you to everyone who has supported SLM Therapy — from clients to peers, supervisors to colleagues, and every kind word shared along the way.

Here’s to year two — with more compassion, more learning, and continued space for healing and growth. 💫

🌍 Today, on World Humanitarian Day, we honour those who dedicate their lives to helping others — often in the most challenging circumstances.
As an integrative therapist, I’m reminded that healing, empathy, and support are all acts of humanity too.

On this International Cat Day, I’m pausing to honour the calm, comforting presence that animals bring to our lives.

Whether it’s the quiet company of a cat curled up nearby or the gentle rhythm of caring for a pet, animals can ground us in the present moment.
They don’t ask us to be anything other than who we are, and in doing so, they create a kind of safety that’s hard to put into words.

This little meditating cat lives in my garden as a daily reminder: slow down, be present, and soak up the quiet companionship around you.

In the therapy room, we often explore how relationships shape our sense of safety, identity, and self-worth. Friendship has the potential to be one of the most healing forces in our lives when rooted in trust, respect, and emotional presence.

A safe friendship offers more than company. It offers co-regulation, a space where our nervous system can settle and where we’re accepted without performance. These relationships remind us we’re not alone in our struggles, and that connection doesn’t require perfection, only authenticity.

Today, on World Friendship Day, I honour the quiet power of friendships that hold space, witness our growth, and allow us to be fully human.
