Some of our residents enjoyed a lovely Knit and Natter session this afternoon! There was plenty of knitting, chatting and laughter as we gathered together to work on projects and enjoy each other’s company.

It’s always so lovely when residents are able to share their hobbies with their friends, helping one another and enjoying time together. 💜

Things got surprisingly competitive this week as our residents took part in a lively game of balloon tennis! There was a strong determination to keep the balloon in the air and everyone was keen to win their rally. 🎾

It was wonderful to see the residents’ competitive spirit come out, with lots of smiles, encouragement and a few very impressive shots! Activities like this keep both the body and mind engaged while creating great moments together.

Well done to all of our fantastic players! 👏

We had a go at our own version of the ‘Cup Song Challenge’ today with our staff and residents! 🥤

We think Evie from our front desk team might have been the clear winner 🏆 but everyone gave it a really good go.

Activities like this are fantastic for supporting residents’ dexterity and hand-eye coordination, and most importantly it brought plenty of laughs, smiles, and a bit of friendly competition too.

A wonderful activity enjoyed by all!

Today we celebrate the remarkable women who bring warmth, strength and kindness to Lavender Fields Care Village every day. Our wonderful residents, the dedicated women in our team and our supportive community partners - you all play a part in making our home so special.

It’s been another action-packed week at Lavender Fields! 🪻

This week we welcomed a mobile museum, who brought along fascinating relics from a bygone era. Residents loved exploring the collection – from old styles of shoes to historic coins and magazines. The items sparked lots of conversation, laughter and wonderful reminiscence as everyone shared their memories.

Following the success of the parrots’ visit recently, we invited in some more feathered friends… this time, owls! 🦉 Residents were amazed as these stunning and majestic birds swooped gracefully around our function room before gently landing on willing shoulders. It was an exciting and unforgettable experience for everyone involved!

Among all the excitement, we also took some time for a little peace and relaxation with a calming meditation session, giving everyone a chance to unwind and enjoy some quiet moments together. 🧘‍♀️

Another fantastic week full of memories, learning and smiles at Lavender Fields. 💜

🦜 We absolutely loved our recent visit from the parrots!

These beautiful birds were incredibly interactive and affectionate, bringing so much joy to our residents. Everyone had the opportunity to cuddle and hold them, creating some truly special moments and plenty of smiles all around.

Parrots are wonderfully intelligent animals and they seemed to be so gentle and understanding with our residents. It was a heartwarming experience to see the connections being made and the happiness they brought into the home.

Thank you for such a memorable visit — it really was a joy for everyone involved! 💜

🌿 Exciting things are happening in our village! 🌿

As we move into the next stage of our development, we’re thrilled to share that 19 beautiful new bungalows are on the way, and we’re also preparing to open our next suite at Provence House, The Oaks.

Today, Dawn, our Head of Legal and Commissioning, is out in the local community spreading the word about everything our wonderful village has to offer. You can find her at Pocklington Market — so if you’re nearby, please do pop down and say hello! 👋

Dawn will be happy to answer any questions you may have about moving into care, care funding, and what life here could look like for you or your loved one.

We are absolutely delighted to announce that February’s Employee of the Month goes to our wonderful Bethanie from the care team 💜.

Bethanie brightens everyone’s day with her sunny demeanour, walking around singing, engaging beautifully with our residents and making sure there’s always a smile nearby. Her warmth and positivity truly light up our home.

This month, Bethanie has also gone above and beyond. She accompanied a village resident to a hospital appointment, knowing that the individual was feeling anxious. It was a difficult appointment but Bethanie provided an exceptional level of reassurance, moral support and quite literally held her hand throughout the process.

Carers like Bethanie are what make our village so special. We are incredibly proud to have her as part of our team.

Today we turned up the music and made some wonderful memories together 🎶💃🥂

Residents enjoyed an afternoon filled with music, dancing and a few glasses of chilled Prosecco from our lovely on-site pub. There were smiles all around as everyone bonded over favourite songs and shared their love of dance.

Music isn’t just something we hear – it’s something we feel. The rhythm, the connection, the touch of a hand during a dance…these moments are so important. They bring joy, spark memories and they strengthen the special friendships within our home.

What a beautiful reminder that happiness can be found in the simplest of moments- good music, great company and a little sparkle in a glass ✨🥂
