As 2025 comes to a close, we’ve been looking back on what has shaped life at the Village over the past year. From music and movement, to trips out, outstanding staff, industry recognition, visits from friends in the community and quiet moments shared around the table, it’s been a year shaped by connection.

Thank you to our residents, villagers, families, team and friends who have all played a part in these moments.

This month, we introduced a new way of recognising the wonderful work of our team through our Employee of the Month award.

We’re delighted to share that this month’s award has been presented to Rob Sparkes, a valued member of our care team.

Rob recently showed exceptional calmness and professionalism when supporting a resident who required urgent assistance. Thanks to the swift response of the team on duty, and Rob’s confident use of his first aid training, the resident received immediate help.

We’re incredibly grateful to Rob, and to the other team members involved, for their quick thinking and compassionate care. This award is a small way of recognising Rob’s actions and the dedication shown across our home every day.

Christmas has arrived at Lavender Fields this week, and the village has been filled with festive cheer, from carols and Christmas jumpers to shared moments, music and laughter, all bringing the season to life.

We were delighted to welcome the Stamford Bridge Community Choir, who joined residents, villagers, families, Dementia Forward and friends for a wonderful afternoon of singing, mulled wine and mince pies. It was one of those moments that perfectly captures the spirit of Christmas.
