Service 412 update after yesterdays farce where we were allowed through the roadworks at Tockwith, then we weren't
Thanks to Councillor Warneken, I have got this message from North Yorkshire
I am emailing regarding the issues at Tockwith today.
Firstly I would like to apologise on behalf of our contractor carrying out the slurry works. We discussed in length confirming that all activity would take place under soft road closures. This arrangement was intended to ensure that access would be maintained throughout, with no disruption to bus services. The only exception would be brief periods when work is taking place directly outside a property, during which it may be unsafe for residents to pass.
Following today’s concerns, I’ve reiterated to the contractor the importance of maintaining access and allowing buses through at all times. They have assured me that they will uphold this commitment.
I have spoken with our transport officer who has relayed this information to the bus company.
The works are currently programmed to be in Tockwith from today until the 7th but these works are highly weather dependant so these dates could change but the contractor will be keeping the advance notification boards up to date with any changes.
Hopefully, we should be allowed through Tockwith as normal for the duration of the roadworks.
