As part of our National Conference down in Hayling Island this week, our very own Sarah was nominated in the category for Enriched the lives of clients award across the whole of the Guardian Angel Carers branches and she won it! 🙌🏻 Congratulations Sarah!
This was all relating to the work Sarah did with former client Mary, whom Sarah spent a lot of time with, enabling her to leave her home for the first time in over a year. They went on many trips around the area and forged a lovely relationship, even attending a classical concert, stately homes and partaking in many ice creams over in Helmsley. Mary sadly passed away suddenly very recently and Sarah attended her cremation and read out a poem she wrote for her at the service.
Sarah said of the Award “This one is all for Mary. Enabling Mary to live a full life never felt like a days work, I adored her company and the time we spent together in her final year was very precious. It is lovely to be recognised with this award, thank you and thank you to everyone at the York branch for supporting me with all the ideas I had to enrich Mary’s life.”
