Riverside Care Complex is a Family managed care home providing bespoke care within 8 acres of countryside on the outskirts of historic York.

This care home provides residential care for the elderly in Derwent House and also has a modern, purpose built Dementia community that has been specifically designed to provide high-quality residential care in Riverview Lodge for those living with dementia. Our team of specialist and dedicated staff focus on the individual needs of our residents and offer person centred care. They are committed to providing dignified and individually tailored care with the resident at the heart of everything we do. The home features 63 en-suite bedrooms all furnished to a very high standard. Accommodation is offered in bright, spacious single rooms. All rooms have TV connectivity and call system. Communal areas comprise lounges and dining areas, a reception area and a conservatory. Varied menus are served and specialist diets can be catered for. We are always happy to welcome visitors or to answer queries – we are here to help, please get in touch. We routinely hold residents and families meetings so we can receive your feedback and refine the care we provide in every way. We actively encourage families to engage in our community and take an active part in the care we provide for loved ones. Our community offers: health and wellbeing services including a dedicated on-site GP services, podiatry services, hair salon, and full time activities coordinator in the home to offer person-centred sessions.

Today is National love your pet day!!

We are very lucky to have the Beautiful Honey who visits our home every Thursday, it’s so lovely to see to joy and happiness she brings to our Residents 💕🐾

Chinese new year 🇨🇳🥢

Today we welcomed in the Chinese New Year with some delicious foods, Duck spring rolls were a firm favourite followed by sweet and sour chicken for tea, we also enjoyed some pancakes at lunch time prepared by our kitchen team for Shrove Tuesday 😊

We have a packed activity calendar coming up this month including music from Christie Clifford, Guitar Dave and Musical Moments,
Keeping the Residents fit with Boogie for your Bones with Starbrite Studios Ltd, a day trip to Deans Garden Centre, Chinese New year celebrations with lots of food and crafts and of course we will be spreading the love on Valentines Day ❤️💕🌹

A W***y Wonka themed Chocolate day consisting of hot chocolate and trying different chocolate bars, the residents enjoyed the chocolate treats and herseys chocolate was one of the most liked, followed by a chocolate themed quiz and triple chocolate hot cross buns

🎉 BOOGIE 4 YOUR BONES LAUNCHES AT RIVERSIDE CARE COMPLEX! 🎉
What a WONDERFUL first session we had today! 💕
I'm absolutely delighted to welcome Riverside Care Complex to the Boogie 4 Your Bones family! The residents were fantastic - so enthusiastic, so full of energy, and ready to give everything a go! 🎵
A huge thank you to retired ICU nurse and Sister Julie who supported the session today. It was an absolute pleasure working alongside her! 👩‍⚕️
Today's highlights:
✨ Residents singing along to all the classic tunes
✨ Smiles and laughter filling the room
✨ Everyone moving at their own pace
✨ Brilliant participation in the stretches and mobility exercises
✨ Even a few attempts at the waltz! 💃
✨ The "Bone Bashing" section was a hit (as always!)
The atmosphere was just magical. You could see the memories flooding back as we played those beloved songs from the 30s-70s, and the residents really connected with the music whilst improving their mobility and strength.
I'm so excited to continue this journey with the wonderful residents at Riverside Care Complex. This is just the beginning!
