Next year sees us celebrating 20 years of Baby Sensory!

In 1987 and three weeks after the birth of her fourth child Imogen, Dr Lin Day, Founder of Baby Sensory® set up Woodford Nursery School in the local village hall.

Activities involving touch, sight, hearing, smell and taste played a significant role in the children’s sensory learning and development at Woodford Nursery School, and in the later development of Baby Sensory®.

Looking for something magical to do with your little one? ✨ Join us at Baby Sensory — the award-winning programme designed to delight your baby’s senses and support their development through fun, engaging activities every week!

Each one-hour session is filled with songs, movement, lights, bubbles, and textures — everything your baby loves to explore. We start with our much-loved “Say Hello to the Sun” song before diving into 20 minutes of themed sensory adventures. After a short break for Exploratory Play (and a well-earned chat for parents!), we finish with a few more gentle group activities and “Wave Goodbye.”

Every week brings something new to discover, from sparkly light shows to music, textures, and surprises designed especially for your baby’s first year. It’s not just about play — it’s about bonding, learning, and making magical memories together. 💛

After a spontaneous adventure last night to drop off my equipment for today’s classes due to a flat tyre, I had an unusual commute to work 😂🚉. Good news is I am ready and excited to welcome everyone for our English Country Garden session today!

It is always an adventure running Baby Sensory classes! Tonight I had a flat tyre and wasn’t sure how I was going to manage to run classes tomorrow morning. I don’t think I could take all my equipment on a bus 🤦🏼‍♀️😂. Never fear though, with the help of the AMAZING Danielle Taylor from Toddler Sense - York we found a solution! We are quite the team!

So I thought I was back at work tomorrow, but after an emergency call from Baby Sensory - York this evening, we actually started work tonight by dropping off all the equipment for Baby Sensory classes tomorrow!

A flat tyre won't stop us running classes and we're both more than happy to help each other out in emergencies!!
