Thank you to the wonderful team and children at Little Green Rascals Haxby for visiting us again this week and for our beautiful drawings!💛

We loved spending the afternoon singing songs, dancing around, and playing catch. How special it was for our residents to reminisce while watching the children laugh and play😍

Visits like these mean so much to everyone involved. Bringing generations together helps reduce loneliness, sparks happy memories, and gives everyone a boost in mood. For the children, it’s a beautiful opportunity to build confidence, kindness, and connection within the community🥰

There’s something truly magical about young and old sharing time together, we can’t wait for your next visit already✨

What a fantastic start to March we’ve had here at Haxby Hall! 🤩

Jen from Music Moments joined us for our monthly morning of singing and dancing, and it certainly got everyone moving💃🏻🕺🏼

On Wednesday we hosted our monthly Community Coffee Morning. As it was National Pie Day, our wonderful kitchen team prepared the most beautiful (and delicious!) selection of pies🥧 We’d love for you to join us at the next one on Wednesday 1st April☕️

The parachute made another appearance this week too, filling the room with laughter as we worked together to keep the balloon bouncing on top🎈

Thursday brought some fun for World Book Day, with visits from Alex DeLarge from A Clockwork Orange and Matilda! What’s your favourite book to read? 📚

We’ve finished the week admiring the daffodils we arranged last week, which have now come beautifully into bloom😍🌼

What a wonderful day we have had celebrating St David’s Day💛

We tested our brains with a quiz, and made some beautiful centre pieces for our dining rooms during Flower Arranging🥰

Thank you to our amazing chefs for making some homemade Welsh Cakes for us to enjoy, and to the team and our residents for either wearing yellow or a daffodil - you all looked incredible😍🌼

✨ Remembering Olive ✨

This year, we said a very sad goodbye to one of our much loved resident's, Olive. She was a special lady who brought so much warmth and friendship to our home, and she will always be remembered fondly by everyone who knew her🥰

This week, we came together at Haxby Hall with Olive’s family and friends to celebrate her life. It was a beautiful gathering filled with heartfelt stories, treasured memories, and shared laughter as we honoured such a wonderful lady🌻

Olive will forever hold a special place in our hearts💛

February Round-Up❤️

W O W - what a month February has been for us here at Haxby Hall!😍

February started with a sing and a dance with Jess from Musical Moments. We enjoyed dancing in our chairs like nobody was watching🎶

We hosted our monthly Community Coffee Morning and enjoyed wonderful conversations over homemade cakes and a cuppa - we’re already excited for our next one on Wednesday 4th March☕️

Valentine’s Day saw us making cards to send to our sister home, Cottingham Manor Care Home. We also took our creative stills to a new level and created some beautiful paintings🎨

Chinese New Year celebrations were enjoyed across the home. We loved learning all about the traditions and discovering that this year is the Year of the Horse. We decorated the home with our handmade lanterns and rounded off the celebrations with a themed pub night with our families❤️

Lots of fun games for both our bodies and minds have been played throughout the month. We’ve enjoyed parachute games and reminiscing about the games we used to play as children, and how they differ from those in today’s world🥰

This week is all about the wonderful people who bring life, laughter, and connection to our homes. While the calendars are full, it’s the personal moments that truly fill our hearts.

Our Activity Lead Glad, was blown away this week by the kindness of one resident’s family when she received a beautiful, hand drawn framed picture from a resident’s daughter, a keepsake to treasure forever

And as if that wasn't enough, she was then brought in a delicious homemade Brown Butter Banana Bread after hearing it was one of Glad’s personal favourites!

The love from our residents and their families is the best reward we could ask for.

A massive shout out to our entire Activities Teams. They are the true heartbeat of our homes, working tirelessly to create joy and connection for everyone. You are all superstars! ⭐

Yesterday we showered Claire with love before she heads off on maternity leave! 🍼

From the decor to the 'Beer Belly or Baby Bump' quiz (which the residents absolutely loved!), it was a fantastic send off for her 🎀

Wishing you all the best with your baby girl, Claire, we can’t wait for cuddles! 💗
