We have a part-time Senior Carer vacancy to fill at Ivy lodge. We are a family owned retirement home for 33 residents and would like an experienced senior to join our award winning team. It is a 24 hour per week contract with plenty of additional shifts available if desired. If you are looking for a fresh challenge we want to hear from you. We have 2 more positions available at Ivy Lodge; We are looking for a Night time care assistant working an average of 28 hours per week on a 3 week rota and a part time cleaner to work 15 hours per week.

We held our annual ‘Strictly Ivy Lodge’ afternoon last week where the staff performed 8 dances which were judged by a generous panel of 4 residents! In between dances we had the evergreen Keith telling jokes and singing which the residents love singing along to.
3 dances scored maximum points but just like Shirley Ballas, I have the casting vote and I think All that Jazz is the winner this year!!

As you’d expect at this time of year, things are getting pretty busy at Ivy lodge!
Over the last week we have been entertained by the choir from St Margaret Clitherow, celebrated Dottie’s birthday (with the obligatory amazing cake) the residents have made wreaths, cards and table centres and we had our 2nd visit to York Golf club for another wonderful Christmas lunch.

The first of our series of Christmas lunches held at York Golf Club in Strensall.
We had a lovely traditional turkey lunch followed by Christmas pud or cheesecake.
Thanks to the golf club for providing such a good meal and for looking after us so well.
The remaining residents are very much looking forward to their trip next week!
