About Pavel

Pavel started yoga in his teens. He was also drawn to group meditations on full moon, men's circles and Native American sweat lodges which are very popular in the North of the Czech Republic, where he's from. In 2015 he moved to York and started his 3-year Ashtanga journey. He enjoyed building strength and deepening his understanding of the philosophy of yoga. A couple of years ago he started looking for a spiritual practice, and found kundalini yoga. He immersed himself in the beauty of this style of yoga; with its particular practices and direction, he quickly got rid of old habits that didn’t serve him anymore and made new connections. Pavel says: “I did my teacher training for myself, as I saw how beneficial this style of yoga is for me. After finishing the course it was a natural flow to share the teachings with other people. Kundalini yoga is practical, challenging (and therefore effective) and also very beautiful. I'll be doing some further training in India next year too.” Pavel is a passionate musician, playing piano, guitar, drums and harmonium - you can expect him to bring some of these instruments to his classes. He likes mantras, chanting and dynamic yoga as well as deep meditation. His spiritual name Taj Sandeep Singh means “joyful and fearless” and this reflects his style of teaching. Pavel also works as Tui Na practitioner here in York.
