Expectations... Not met

Desires... unfulfilled

Loneliness... a companion

Self love... Not feeling it

So...

Give what you want to receive!

Give love everywhere and to everyone, especially those who annoy or upset you, give those even more...

Drop expectations of how everything SHOULD be and begin to be curious about how it CAN be when you let go of your old certainties and beliefs.

Call someone you haven't seen in a while.

Send a random card to a friend or a purposeful one to a random stranger.

Accept love from your pet, your family, neighbours, strangers.

Don't add conditions for giving or receiving love, just blast it out there and breathe it in.

Do random acts of kindness

Make happy stuff up - ask questions to open up possibilities...

How can I enjoy myself more?

What would it take to be happier now?

What does my body want now that will make it feel loved?

let in love and let it out.

Be more love

Not just today, but every day!

Loving you ❤️

It's a long, long January, hey?

For any of my hypnotherapist friends who may be interested, the lovely Lori Hammond is offering a free group hypnosis session for therapists wanting to create their own successful business with group hypnosis this Sunday at 6pm.

(I think that there will be a replay if you register and you can't make it)

It's a free hypnotic session for you to enjoy and limited access to a training for those who are interested in specialising in running groups afterward.

Like everything Lori does this is packed full of goodness. (I was part of a Beta training and super impressed with the extent of what Lori has created, apart from just how lovely she is and how she goes the extra mile or ten with her support).

Comment *group* below or private message me if you would like the link to the free session.

Have a lovely weekend regardless! 🥰

I know Christmas is over, but I just wanted to share this beautiful creation, lovingly made and put on top of a postbox near the Knavesmire, York.
I love the creativity and the community spirit as well as the beautiful aesthetic.

Thank you whoever made thus.

Did you know that creativity is an antidote to anxiety?

What would you like to create today?

I'm creating my tax return being easy and fun to do! 😂

In an ideal world I would have sent you all handmade cards and made delicious home made chutneys, Ayurvedic remedies, handmade crafted presents and I would have attended multiple Carol services, Christmas markets, pantomimes, Christmas parties and have prepped my Christmas dinner in advance. 🌲

In reality I have posted only 1 card (to my Dad as I won't see him over Christmas.)

I've managed 4 hand made cards for neighbours so far, then guilt tripped myself because I used 15 year old glitter from my craft cupboard which really isn't eco friendly!

I've bought a brandy infused Christmas cake for my Mum to appreciate, it's not handmade, but it's the least UPF I could find.

I still have no idea what I am cooking on Christmas eve/ day to include vegan and non vegan palates.

I keep shopping and buying things without a clear idea of what it's for or when we will eat it.

I have no decorations up.

My sleep pattern is suddenly crazy.

My central heating is acting up.

Trying to figure out everyone's work and social diary over Christmas is proving difficult in order to find a time when we are all free to do something "Christmassy" ...

Sometimes it all feels a bit much... and I am a therapist with skills to deal with all of this... 😮

How are you coping?

Finances/cost of living increases
Family relationships
Guilt trips about how Christmas *should * be
Illnesses
Children's expectations
Memories of loved ones lost
Overwhelmed
World events/politics
Feeling out of control 😪

It's all a bit much this time of year.
This pressure we put on ourselves.
The expectations versus the reality.

For one day... really...?

Give yourself a break.

Your best is good enough.

It's okay to take a step back.

Ask for help if you need it.

Reach out to someone to just connect and communicate.

Be real.

You don't need the matching pyjamas, just presence. Time being with someone fully. Listening to what they have to say without interrupting or waiting to just say what you want to say without really hearing them.

A welcome home, sharing your time and your love.

A welcome home, sharing your time and your love.

If you are alone, maybe reaching out to speak to someone else who feels that way? Volunteering? Appreciating what you have. Being proud of who you are. Of who you have become *despite* everything. Remembering that you are here when others haven't made it.

I wish you peace

Peace with everything you thought you were, thought that you would have now, thought that you would be.

Peace with being exactly who you are right now, with everything that's brought you here. Imperfect, but perfectly you.

Peace with the injustices that you can't change right now, with the wrongs you want to right.

Peace with things not being how they used to be, how you wish they still were.

Peace with your anger at yourself for not having achieved those goals, become that person, changed that thing...

Peace with just settling in to what is right now.

Of finding the small things that matter and celebrating them.

Of appreciating when others find happiness of finding joy in their joy.

Of thanking the bus driver, the person at the till, the person who lets you flow into the traffic, rather than blocking you, the postman, the delivery driver, the waitress, the bar tender, the refuse collector, the customer service operator.

Of being that person who serves with a smile, offers up your seat on the bus, holds that door open, helps reach the item on the top shelf for someone who struggles.

Be prepared to do things differently and be okay with that.

No beating yourself up.

You're a human doing your best in what seem to be difficult times.

Well done you! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You rock!
I see you!
I celebrate your uniqueness ❤️

Who even am I?

You aren't broken, you're just buying into someone else's version of who you should be and how you should be. Of multiple expectations about how you should behave and be.

And let's face it, we've all fallen into the trap at some point of layering expectations on to how others should be in order for us to be happy.

When love comes with conditions we allow ourselves to become squished.

When approval comes with expectations, we make their judgement about who we are and how we should be, matter more than who we really be.

We struggle to fit in yet we want to belong to a tribe. We get caught up in what's *normal*, what's *nice* what's *good* and what's *bad* (Don't be on Santa's naughty list!)

We seek approval from family/friends/peers/society and try to fit in with the artificial expectations gleaned through TV, film, advertising, social media and more, about how to be the perfect mother/father/wife/husband/son/daughter/friend/lover/worker/citizen...with the perfect lifestyle/body/relationship...

Is it any wonder we have any self esteem at all?

Well, take it from me, you matter.

You are loveable and loved.

You have everything within you.

When you are ready to release those thoughts of not being good enough, of just not being enough and step into your own wonderfully creative self, to let go of what others think of you and celebrate who you really are, life changes, it unfurls in a different way... You don't crave being seen and heard by others when you accept who you are with kindness and appreciation. And the more you love you and don't fall for needing approval, the more that approval shows up from others anyway.

You've got this, my friend 🧡

And if you'd like a little cheerleader in your corner until your own shows up, imagine me by your side with a great big grin spurring you on!

If you need a bit more support until your imagination kicks in then message me for a chat and see what we could achieve working together.

All the love

Angie ❤️
