Holistic Kitchen 100% Vegan Products made with Essential Oils | Handcrafted in the Yorkshire Wolds | I literally threw out all household cleaning products with chemicals. x

Being holistic from my kitchen...

My name is Sallyanne, I am a working mummy who loves to make essential oil blends and other products when I can, around being a busy mum. Over the last few years I have worked with essential oils through my work as a holistic massage therapist. I cannot get enough of their magical natural benefits, beautiful scents and the ability to heal the mind and the body. During my first pregnancy with Hunter, I started to take on more of a holistic approach to what I was using on my skin as I started to get bad eczema on my hand during pregnancy. I started to look at how chemicals in household products and skin care could be the cause of this flare up. I first started to make my own household cleaning products using essential oils, white vinegar and bicarbonate soda. My eczema slowly went and I was amazed. This set me off on my chemical free journey and I found myself obsessed with finding out more information. One book that inspired me was 'Imperfectly Natural Woman: Getting Life Right the Natural Way' by Janey Lee Grace.

Hunter was born in August 2012 and shortly after he was born he developed patches of eczema on his skin. I started experimenting by make my own balms with essential oils to massage into his skin. This saved me from using the steroid cream the doctor wanted to give him, and I felt better as I was using something so natural and organic that actually worked!

My friends started to ask if I could make them their own unique essential oil blend and organically, Holistic Kitchen started to grow.

During my second pregnancy with Luna, I started to experiment with more essential oil blends and products suitable for pregnancy and breastfeeding to use on myself, and now, those products, such as Mamas Comfort and Bump, Boobs & Baby Balm, are my best selling products from the pregnancy range.

I use 100% therapeutic grade essential oils and raw organic ingredients in all my handmade products.

I appreciate all the support and loyalty from my customers, friends and family, as without you, this wouldn't be happening for me.

Finally, thank you to the universe for guiding me through life and helping me on my bumpy journey to creating Holistic Kitchen products.

Last week I poured a fresh batch of Hygge and Calm My Mind and the studio smelled incredible! 🌿

Hygge feels like a big cosy hug and Calm My Mind is exactly what we all need in the run-up to Christmas.

A lot of shop-bought candles are made with synthetic fragrance oils, and for some people - like me - that can be a trigger for headaches, migraines or hormone disruption. Synthetic fragrance is often made from petroleum-derived chemicals and can contain things like phthalates which some people prefer to avoid, especially if they’re sensitive to artificial scents or want a more natural home environment.

I can't even walk down the detergent Isle in the supermarket anymore! I have to hold my nose!

This is why I keep mine simple.
Rapeseed and coconut wax.
Pure essential oils.

No synthetics. No paraffin. No nasties.

Just natural scent that supports your mood instead of overwhelming your space.

These batches will be ready in about two weeks, and you can pre-order now if you want a Hygge hug or a Calm My Mind moment waiting for you.

People often ask why I choose certain essential oils for my blends. It’s simple. Each one supports how you want to feel....

People often ask why I choose certain essential oils for my blends. It’s simple. Each one supports how you want to feel.

Frankincense grounds your energy and slows the breath. 🌿

Orange brightens the mood and brings a lift of joy. 🍊

Patchouli creates a deep sense of peace and presence. ✨

Lavender helps the body soften and release. 🟣

Scent speaks directly to the emotional centre of the brain, which is why even one inhale can shift your whole day.

Which one are you drawn to today?

I’ve finally stopped trying to run my business the “right” way.

Part 3 of my totally unstructured mini-series and if you’ve missed Part 1 or 2, they’re both on my grid 💛

My ADHD brain just doesn’t do structure. I’ve tried all the planners, the content schedules, the 'this is how you should run your business' plans… and every time, I last about a week before I feel completely blocked.

Forcing myself to work in a way that doesn’t fit makes me shut down. I don’t want to post, I don’t want to sell, I just feel ugh. But when I share honestly, what it’s really like running a small business, that’s when I feel connected again.

I can feel Holistic Kitchen shifting into something bigger. I don’t quite know what that is yet, but I’m trusting that I’m being guided somewhere. I’ll always make my products, I’ll always make scent, but I know there’s more to come.

If you’re feeling burnt out or stuck, go outside. Breathe. Reset. Nature doesn’t ask you for a plan - it just reminds you to be. 🌿

Part 2 of my unstructured mini-series. Totally off the cuff, no planning, and filmed on a dog walk 🐾

If you missed Part 1, it’s on my grid.

You might have already seen that my posts are a little different this year. I want to keep them simple but emotive, and hopefully more in tune with how people actually feel at this time of year.

After 11 years in business, I’ve realised that perfect Christmas posts don’t always connect. People scroll on by and we burn ourselves out trying to keep up.

So this year, I’m leading with heart instead of the algorithm. I’ll still share my products, but I’ve felt called to do it differently. I’m done spending hours filming and editing reels for people to scroll past in seconds.

Every blend I create comes from intuition and emotion. They are made for moments when I needed calm, clarity, or comfort. So I’m posting intuitively this year with no rigid plan. Let’s see where it leads.

What makes you stop scrolling? I’d love to know what kind of content you actually enjoy seeing on here.

Welcome to my totally unstructured mini series, where I talk about what alignment in business really looks like for me.

I didn’t plan this (obviously 😂) but I think it’s important to be honest, especially this time of year. Every small business feels that pressure to show up, post, promote, sell and honestly, it can feel like one long doom scroll and it's exhausting.

So why am I doing the same thing that makes me switch off? This year, I’m doing things differently.

Everything I’ve built ,my blends, my skincare, my scents, came from intuition, not from a plan or a course. Just a knowing. And it’s worked.

So I’m leaning into that again. I’m taking the pressure off. No algorithm anxiety. No perfect posting schedule. Just intuition.

I’ll still share my offers and my products (of course), but not in a pushy way. I want to talk about what feels real, what’s aligned with my gut and my heart.

Maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t.
But it’ll be honest. And that’s what I want more of this season. Plus I already feel lighter knowing I've taken that pressure off myself.

Stay tuned for part 2.

Love Sal x

One of my favourite smells is when I clear away after a workshop.

I soak all the beakers with all the recipes everyone made, and inhale the steam.

I'd love to be able to bottle this scent but I wouldn't know where to start 🤣🤣

Today's workshop was bloody lovely!! I got to meet some of my loyal customers who have supported my business for years and it was so nice. I feel very full and happy.

The most wholesome way to celebrate a birthday - surrounded by friends, laughter, scent, and creativity.

These lovely ladies surprised their friend with an Aromachology Workshop for her 70th birthday, and it couldn’t have been more special.

If you’re looking for a unique gift or want to plan a get-together that feels calm and meaningful, you can book a group session or pick up a workshop gift voucher online. ✨

If I wanted to feel calm during the festive chaos, this is what I’d do 🌿

I’d pour Calm Quartz Crystal Bath Soak into warm water, let the orange, patchouli, bergamot and frankincense calm your nervous system. Inhale the scent and take a few slow breaths - because calm shouldn’t be a luxury at this time of year!

A moment of stillness.
A scent that resets everything.

✨ Part of the Calm My Mind Collection.

Our Story

Holistic. Simple. Natural.

Hello. I am Sallyanne from Holistic Kitchen. I believe that everyone should be able to experience the power of natural and raw ingredients on the mind, body and soul, without costing the earth. I specialise in essential oil blends, skin care, and pregnancy care products to suit any mood, emotion, and need, all of which are lovingly handcrafted in small batches in the Yorkshire Wolds. Like the name, the product ranges are holistic - meaning they treat the whole person.

I research, test and blend unique combinations that will heal physical ailments, reduce stress levels and balance hormones, while at the same time, rejuvenate your skin and warm the soul. I've put a lot of time and energy into my products to make them affordable, ethical, and kind to the environment. It’s a hard balance to strike but I am committed, and always looking for ways to improve. All our ingredients are ethically sourced, and we’re on a mission to become 100% Organic (so far, we’re at around 65%).
