✨ A Year of Clear Vision for a 12-Year-Old ✨

Meet our patient — a 12-year-old boy who wanted to see clearly during the day without glasses. With an initial prescription of –3.50 / –3.75 D and corrected vision of 0.8, his goal was simple: enjoy life, play sports, and not feel limited by glasses.

To help him, we prescribed overnight orthokeratology lenses (OKVision –3.50 D), worn 8 hours each night. These special lenses gently reshape the cornea while sleeping, so he wakes up with clear vision — all day!

📈 How it went:
• Night 1: vision 0.4, mild morning dryness
• Week 1: vision 0.8
• Month 3: vision 1.2
• Month 12: vision 1.2, cornea healthy and clear

The axial length grew only +0.07 mm, far below the average for his age (≈0.25 mm), meaning his myopia progression was effectively slowed.

“Cover One Eye” Test — a quick way to check your child’s vision at home

Want to make sure your child’s eyesight is developing normally? Try this simple 20-second test you can do anytime.

How to do it:
Ask your child to cover one eye and look at an object 2–3 meters away. Then switch eyes.

Watch for warning signs:
• squinting
• head tilt
• shifting posture
• slow or hesitant answers

If the reaction is different between the right and left eye, it may indicate early astigmatism or developing myopia. This is especially important for children aged 3–7.
