Dr. Benedict Lust (1872–1945) was the "Father of Naturopathy" in America. He was a trailblazer in natural healing, strongly opposing conventional medicine. Lust first immigrated to the U.S. in 1892 as a representative of Father Sebastian Kneipp (a Bavarian priest renowned for hydrotherapy and water cures), after recovering from a serious illness (likely tuberculosis) through Kneipp's natural methods. Inspired by this, he rejected conventional drug-based medicine in favor of "drugless" healing. He founded the American School of Naturopathy in 1901 and the American Naturopathic Association in 1919. This book was published in 1926.
