There are different types of honey depending on the bee species and the flowers they hop on.
So some honeys appear dark while others appear brown.
It's difficult to make out correct honey from adulterated honey just by the look of it or the taste.
These are some major test to do to establish the quality of honey:
1. The paper test. Simply drop honey on a piece of paper. Observe if there is a map design at the back of the paper that suggests a leakage. When that happens, it is adulterated and fake. If it doesn't show any leakage, it's genuine.
2. Water test: pour some water in a bowl. Pour the honey into it and observe. If the honey settles at the base. It's very pure. But if it starts dissolving immediately u pour into the water, it's the adulterated content that has started dissolving. Tht is fake
3. Match stick test: take your match stick and apply honey on d the head. Light it and see. If it lights, that is a perfect honey. If it doesn't, it's fake.
4. Comb test: again, pour water in a bowl. Pour some honey inside it. When it settles down, try swinging the bowl in a circular motion slowly and observe keenly the honey. A perfect honey will create the shapes of the honey comb as u swing it. A fake one won't do that.
5. Sand test: look for a floor where there is a little bit of sand. Pour the honey on that floor and observe. If some of the sand immediately climbs on the honey, then it's fake. But it stays as it is as your pour, that is a perfect honey.
6. Finger test: pour a drop of honey on your fingernail and observe. If it slides and drops from your finger, it's fake. If it stands on your finger, then that is correct honey.
Kindly take note and avoid bad products.
Thanks.
