• X-ray Generation: This category comprises the X-ray tube, collimator, and grid.
 X-ray Tube: The core component responsible for generating X-rays, comprising a filament, cathode, anode target, and high-voltage generator.
 Collimator: Shapes the X-ray beam to the desired size, reducing unnecessary radiation exposure.
 Grid: Minimizes scattered radiation, ensuring image clarity.
• Image Capture: The image capture compartment includes the digital x-ray detector and the image processing unit.
 Digital X-ray Detector: Replaces traditional film cassettes, converting X-rays into electronic signals using technologies like flat-panel detectors or computed radiography (CR) cassettes.
 Image Processing Unit: Optimizes captured images by adjusting brightness, contrast, and sharpness.
• Image Display and Storage: The image display and storage categorization is made of the workstation and the PACS.

• Principle of Operation of X-ray Machine
A high-voltage current is applied across a filament within the tube to produce electrons, which strike the metal target within the tube, generating X-ray photons. These X-rays (photons) are then directed into a focused beam using the collimator. During a medical procedure, the X-ray beam passes through the patient's body, and the varying absorption of X-rays by different tissues creates an image on a detector, which is typically a digital device. The captured image undergoes processing for optimization and is displayed on a monitor.
