Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited (TPL) was registered under the Companies Code 1963 Act 179 on 28th February, 1998 as Tobinco Company Limited, a limited liability company. On 23rd January, 2003, the company underwent a name change to Tobinco Pharmacy Limited and later in April, 2006, it again changed to Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited. The staff strength of TPL at the inception was about eight (8)

with only four (4) main line drugs distributed from Accra into some areas in the regions .The principal suppliers of TPL are BlissGVS, Ally pharma, Blue Map and others from India.

World Malaria Day: Tobinco donates Over GHS 200,000 worth of medicines to UGMC

Last weekend as Ghana joined the rest of the world to mark World Malaria Day, Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited donated medicines worth GHS 200,000 to the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) to support the fight against malaria.
The donation formed part of the company’s corporate social responsibility aimed at improving healthcare delivery.

Led by its Chairman, Elder Dr. Samuel Nana Amo Tobbin, presented assorted medicines to UGMC as part of activities to support ongoing efforts to reduce malaria cases. The items included antimalarial drugs such as Lufart and Entramol, as well as blood tonics and other essential medicines to aid in the treatment of patients.

Speaking during the presentation, the Managing Director of TPL Omega, Dr. Christopher Mensah, said the donation was to support the hospital in delivering quality care to malaria patients.

The Director of Pharmacy at UGMC, Josephine Mensah, expressed gratitude to the company on behalf of the hospital’s management and urged the public to adopt preventive measures against malaria.

Tobinco Donates X'Feron Syrup to Prisons Service.

The sales and marketing arm of Entrance Pharmaceuticals and Research Centre, Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited (TPL) has presented medications worth one hundred and twenty five thousand Cedis to the Ghana Prisons Service. This presentation was in response to a call to help stock the Medicines and Equipment Bank, an initiative to improve the well being of staff and inmates of the Prisons Service.

During the presentation, Dr Christopher Mensah, Managing Director of the Omega Subsidiary of TPL, reiterated that the three hundred cartons of X’Feron Syrup presented could cater for nine thousand anemic cases and to ensure inmates are well and healthy to be reintegrated back into society.

Dr Augustina Ama Buadu, Public Health Coordinator of the Prisons Service thanked Elder Nana Amo Tobbin, Group Chairman of the Tobinco Group for his prompt response to help deal with the several diseases that plague the prisons service not only in Ghana but globally.
