A week ago, I had the privilege of joining an extraordinary community of women from 54 African countries at the AWEC General Assembly in Lusaka, Zambia.
It was more than a gathering—it was a powerful convergence of vision, purpose, and possibility.
Across conversations, shared experiences, and strategic dialogues, one thing became clear: Africa’s future is being shaped by bold, collaborative, and purpose-driven women who are committed to building, scaling, and transforming industries across the continent.
For me, this experience was deeply enriching. It reinforced the importance of:
✨ Continuous learning
✨ Meaningful connections
✨ Intentional collaboration
As an optometrist and entrepreneur, I am particularly inspired by how cross-sector partnerships can unlock new opportunities in healthcare—especially in making quality eye care more accessible across Africa.
The conversations we had in Lusaka are not meant to end there. They are seeds—seeds of innovation, expansion, and impact.
Now, the real work begins.
Africa is not waiting. We are building.
