GAMLS Mourns the Tragic Loss of National Leaders and Security Personnel in Adansi Akrofuom Helicopter Crash

The Ghana Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (GAMLS) is deeply saddened by the tragic helicopter crash that occurred at Adansi Akrofuom, claiming the lives of eight distinguished Ghanaians whose service to our nation was both exemplary and invaluable.

We join the entire nation in mourning the loss of:

Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Hon. Minister for Defence

Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Hon. Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation

Alhaji Muniru Muhammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator

Dr. Samuel Sarpong, First Vice Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC)

Three gallant servicemen of the Ghana Armed Forces

Deputy National Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO)

These individuals were not only high-ranking public servants and leaders but also patriots who dedicated their lives to the peace, safety, and development of Ghana. Their sudden and collective loss is a national tragedy of immense proportions.

As an Association committed to advancing the health sector and national development, we stand in solemn solidarity with the families of the deceased, the Government of Ghana, the NDC, and all affected institutions. We also extend our sympathies to the people of Adansi Akrofuom, who witnessed this painful tragedy.

At this time of sorrow, we call for national unity, calm, and reflection. May this painful event renew our collective commitment to the safety of our leaders and citizens alike.

May the souls of our fallen compatriots rest in perfect peace.
Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and the entire nation.

Signed,
Dr. Solomon Kwashie
