Sunday is a special day
Sunday is primarily a Christian day
Sunday is a holy day
Christ did not rise from the grave on Saturday
Sunday is different from Monday-Saturday
The only day God set aside to send the Holy Spirit on the church during Pentecost was Sunday.
The only day the early Christians set aside for their worship was on Sunday to commemorate the great feast of the resurrection that brought them salvation.
Insult you??? No sir! No one is going to insult you, Sir! Normally you don't insult someone who is ignorant on an issue, you correct the person instead and leave the person to do whatever he or she likes with the correction.
Let us add some 'footnotes' for the sake of those shouting Sabbath, Sabbath.
There are more than 30 prescriptions on what you CANNOT do on the Sabbath day. I will highlight a few.
1. You are not supposed to travel or move out of your place. (Ex. 16:29), “Let no man leave his home on the seventh day."
This law was to discourage the people from going out to carry manna. And subsequent understanding was that on the Sabbath, you don't carry things like wood or objects around. In fact, certain trivial things like handkerchiefs or keys, or purses are forbidden to be carried on the Sabbath day. (Jeremiah 17:21-22), “Take heed and carry no burdens on the Sabbath. . . Also do not carry any burden out of your houses on the Sabbath.”
You all did not see how Jesus was breaking the Sabbath law bah? Do you remember the man he healed on the Sabbath and told to carry his mat and go. . . was the man not questioned by the Pharisees for breaking Sabbath law simply because he was carrying his mat?
John 5:10 "And so the Jewish leaders said to the man who had been healed, “It is the Sabbath; the law forbids you to carry your mat.”
2. Again, you don't cook on Sabbath or roast anything or bake. Even boiling water is against the Sabbath law. (Ex. 35:3), “You shall not light a fire at home on the Sabbath day.”
Exodus 16: 23 "This is that which Yahweh has spoken, 'Tomorrow is a solemn rest, a holy Sabbath to Yahweh. Bake that which you want to bake, and boil that which you want to boil; and all that remains over lay up for yourselves to be kept until the morning.'"
3. You don't plow, plant, or even water your flowers. You can't even pluck a fruit on the tree or harvest your produce or mow your lawn on the Sabbath day. (Ex. 34:21), “Six days shall you work, but you shall rest on the seventh; in plowing and in harvesting, you shall rest.”
4. On Sabbath day you are not allowed to grind or mill your grain. Haircutting, shaving, and cutting one’s fingernails are forbidden.
5. There is what the Jews call Muktzeh (set aside). These are things you don't even dare to touch during the Sabbath so that you don't unintentionally use them to perform any work.
Among the many things considered muktzeh are money and checks; scissors, hammers, and saws; pencils and pens; battery-operated toys and flashlights; radios and CDs; telephones and computers.
Jews still keeps all I listed. So, if you are shouting Saturday-Sabbath, Saturday-Sabbath, and canceling Sunday, remember to keep your Saturday Sabbath as prescribed since you want to be a Jew and not a Christian; since you prefer to remain under the law instead of the liberation brought by Christ. You should not come here and be displaying selective amnesia.
And while you are at that, read Exodus 35:2 clearly and take note of the parts I capitalized,
"Work must be done for six days, but the seventh must be a holy day for you, a day OF COMPLETE REST, in honour of Yahweh. ANYONE who DOES ANY WORK on that day will be put to DEATH."
Just so you don't forget, Sabbath starts from sunset every Friday to an hour after sunset every Saturday.
Before I forget, you are not even supposed to write on the Sabbath day.
