Green bananas are a cultural staple in Uganda—and for farmer Cliff Rutaisire, they’re now the cornerstone of a thriving family business.

After joining IFDC’s BRIGHT project trainings on soil conservation, improved agronomic practices, and collective marketing, Cliff and his family transformed their 2.5-acre plot into a model farm.

Today, they harvest 30+ large bunches each month, earning 4x higher prices, investing in livestock, improving their home, and strengthening their children’s future.

Their story shows what’s possible when knowledge, resilience, and sustainable land management come together.
