Biography Of Mr. Kenneth Ayodele Davies-Jones

Kenneth Ayodele Davies-Jones was born on 7th January 1954 at 5 Long Street, in Bathurst, Gambia.

He is the last of 6 children, of Mr. Maxmillan Davies- Jones (uncle Max) and Mrs. Mary Cecilia Darboe-Jones (Aunty Mary) both of Blessed memory. His siblings are Revd Max Davies- Jones (deceased) Mrs Ivy Hamilton (New York) Audrey Ojeh (Bahamas) Sammy Darboe-Jones (deceased) and Dr. Arnold Davies-Jones (Abuja, Nigeria).

Kenneth did his primary education at the Methodist Preparatory School and secondary at St Augustine’s High School.

He travelled to Sweden in March 1974, where he spent the best part of his life. He worked at the Central Post Office in Stockholm through his hard work and dedication, rose through the ranks to one of the top positions manning the night shift. Kenneth was quite comfortable with this shift, whilst spending most of the day sleeping.

Kenneth had all the qualities that is required of a human being, sociable, likeable, extremely generous, full of empathy, enjoying life to the Max. He also loved travelling. He was a member of the Aku boys club in Sweden, MANOJADA and Banjul Reform club in the Gambia.

He is survived by his Widow, children, Jeggan, Femi and Sengan (Davies-Jones family of Sweden), Isha Aina and Joshua (Davies-Jones family of California) Isabella (Finland) Nichol Gustavsson (Sweden) two sisters and a brother, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He died in the Gambia on 8th November 2021, after being ill for a while. He will be sorely missed. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
