An octopus has three hearts, nine brains and blue blood
In our dark oceans live millions of unknown and mysterious animals and many wonderful underwater sea creatures.

However, the giant Pacific octopus is truly something strange. With three hearts, nine brains and blue blood, these eight-armed creatures are nothing short of extraordinary.
One main brain controls their nervous system with eight smaller brains controlling each of the eight arms. Two hearts pump blood to their gills, while one large heart circulates blood to other parts of the body.

They can also camouflage themselves for protection when hunting for food and by releasing a toxic dye when alarmed.

How many animals in the world?
If we put aside the concept of the number of individual animals on the planet, and simply determine the number of species on Earth, this is already a difficult task.

Currently, science can only offer approximate numbers, and overall numbers vary widely.

Using a new scaling-based technique, Camilo Mora, a marine ecologist at the University of Hawaii and colleagues at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada, estimated that there are 8.7 billion species on Earth. However, this figure includes plants and fungi as well as animals.

Estimates of the animal world itself vary greatly, and range from 1 to 2 million species; some experts speak of an upper limit of 50 million animal species.

ZEBRAS WHITE WITH BLACK STRIPE OR BLACK WITH WHITE STRIPE?
In fact, zebras are black with a white stripe. Recent studies have shown that black is the main color that appears first in the process of embryonic development of an animal, and white is added later.

Zebra stripes are needed for protection. Lions cannot distinguish colors and when a zebra runs, the mixing of black and white stripes can confuse a predator.

In addition, scientists recently discovered that stripes protect zebras from insect bites - the monochrome pattern affects the visual systems of flies.

Cat meowing is a form of communication only with humans, not with other cats
Cats are our furry friends who love to spend their time relaxing next to us...or on top of us. But have you noticed that they are always meowing around us?
Well, it is a form of communication, but only between cats and humans.
You will not see our feline friends using the same form of contact with another cat, except between kittens and their mothers. Cats rest their heads against humans so they can know they feel

Wild chimpanzees enjoy drinking alcohol
How interesting facts about animals can do without monkeys?
Like humans, chimpanzees like to get drunk on alcohol. Over the years, researchers have discovered similarities between humans who drink alcohol and chimpanzees seeking out naturally fermented alcohol.
It's called the Drunken Monkey Hypothesis. In the Guinean jungle, these intelligent wild chimpanzees climb raffia palms to steal the alcoholic sap that people collect in containers.
The total alcohol content of this fermented palm sap averages 3 percent, which is equivalent to a pint of beer!

Rats laugh when they are tickled
A study was conducted at the University of Berlin to study what happens in the human brain when we are tickled. Testing on rats has shown that they actually like tickling too, especially their backs.
When tickled, rats make an extremely high-pitched sound that sounds like laughter. They even look for the experimenter's hand when they stop and ask to continue!
