Relationship communication can mean needing mediation, dialogue or therapy to work through really big, really tough issues. Relationships mean taking the time to make space for things to be uncomfortable for a while so you can find a solution together. Relationships mean understanding what your partner needs to feel loved, supported, appreciated and respected. Relationships take work!

You could say that the whole human endeavour is geared towards setting and achieving goals. Goals are part of every aspect of life: how you conduct your relationships, what you want to achieve at work, the way you use your spare time... Everything comes down to priorities, and what you would like to accomplish in every aspect – whether you make a conscious choice or go with subconscious preferences. Without setting goals or objectives, life becomes a series of chaotic happenings you don't control. You become the plaything of coincidence. Accomplishments like sending someone to the moon, inventing the iPod etcetera are the result of a goal that was set at some point. A vision that was charted and realised.

Pursue goals and interests that matter to you. In order to feel fulfilled, you should work towards goals and interests that matter to you. Don’t let others control the goals or interests that you choose to pursue. If you are not pursuing goals and interests that matter to you, you may need to readjust your pursuits to make sure you're on a track that you feel good about. Look for meaning in the everyday. When life feels like drudgery, it can help to take time to find beauty and meaning in small, everyday things to put everything into a larger context or perspective. What makes you feel alive and joyful? When you find something that seems to give you a boost, make it a consistent part of your life.

One of the most helpful things you can do to overcome social anxiety is to face the social situations rather than avoid them. Avoidance keeps social anxiety disorder going with a gradual increase in intensity. While avoiding nerve-wracking situations may help you feel better in the short-term, it prevents you from becoming more comfortable in social settings and learning how to cope in the long term. In fact, the more you avoid a feared situation, the more frightening it becomes. So in the end, it’s your choice, FIGHT or FLIGHT?

One of the most surprising things about motivation is that it often comes after starting a new behavior, not before. We have this common misconception that motivation arrives as a result of passively consuming a motivational video or reading an inspirational book. However, active inspiration can be a far more powerful motivator!

If you ever want to go far in life, you've got to use your own head and learn how to not give a s**t. Yes, no one says that it's going to be easy, but that’s why a lot of people are locked up in the cage of social approval and norm. It can be hard for an average person to endure judgement and hate, but it’s the price of being real and authentic. Never shy away from being yourself and expressing yourself freely without any hesitation. If the world doesn’t get you, keep moving—they rejected and laughed at the ones who actually changed it.

Realization is dawning. Instead of playing the tyrant, therefore, you are paying attention. You are telling the truth, instead of manipulating the world. You are negotiating, instead of playing the martyr or the tyrant. You no longer have to be envious, because you no longer know that someone else truly has it better. You no longer have to be frustrated, because you have learned to aim low, and to be patient. You are discovering who you are, and what you want, and what you are willing to do. You are finding that the solutions to your particular problems have to be tailored to you, personally and precisely. You are less concerned with the actions of other people, because you have plenty to do yourself. Attend to the day, but aim at the highest good. Now, your trajectory is heavenward. That makes you hopeful. Even a man on a sinking ship can be happy when he clambers aboard a lifeboat! And who knows where he might go, in the future. To journey happily may well be better than to arrive successfully.… Ask, and ye shall receive. Knock, and the door will open. If you ask, as if you want, and knock, as if you want to enter, you may be offered the chance to improve your life, a little; a lot; completely—and with that improvement, some progress will be made in Being itself. Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today.

You are possessed of an instinct—a spirit—that orients you toward the highest good. It calls your soul away from hell and toward heaven. And because it is there, you find yourself frequently disillusioned. People disappoint you. You betray yourself; you lose a meaningful connection to your workplace, boss, or partner. You think, “The world is not set right. It is deeply troubling to me.” That very disenchantment, however, can serve as the indicator of destiny. It speaks of abdicated responsibility—of things left undone, of things that still need to be done. You are irritated about that need. You are annoyed with the government, you are embittered and resentful about your job, you are unhappy with your parents, and you are frustrated with all these people around you who will not take on responsibility. There are, after all, things that are crying out to be accomplished. You are outraged that what needs to be done is not being done. That anger—that outrage—is, however, a doorway. That observation of abdicated responsibility is the indication of destiny and meaning. The part of you that is oriented toward the highest good is pointing out the disjunction between the ideal you can imagine—the ideal that is possessing you—and the reality you are experiencing. There is a gap there, and it is communicating its need to be filled. You can give way to fury, in consequence, and blame it on someone else—and it is not as if other people are not contributing to the problems. Or you can come to understand that your very disappointment is an indication to you from the most fundamental levels of your being that there is something wrong that needs to be set right—and, perhaps, by you. What is it, that concern, that care, that irritation, that distraction? It is not the call to happiness. It is the call to the action and adventure that make up a real life.

I hope you never have to question your self-worth because of someone’s inability to see it. I hope you never have to doubt yourself because of someone’s inability to treat you right. I hope you never have to spend another day guessing if you’re worth loving because of someone’s inability to give you the love you’re looking for.
I hope you never have to second guess how someone feels about you because they’ll be showing you in the smallest and biggest ways what you mean to them. You’ll see it in their eyes, you’ll hear it in their voice and you’ll feel it in their touch. I hope you realize that you’ve been falling for lies, hearts that don’t know how to love and people who only used you as a bridge to get to someone else. I hope you forget all those mistakes and don’t let them define you. I hope you understand that love will only enhance the best parts of you and will make you shine even brighter.
I hope you never let the wrong people define you or change your mind about love. I hope you never let heartbreak break your spirit and I hope you never let those who couldn’t stay stop you from giving your all to someone who’s worth it. I hope you never let those who didn’t choose you make you afraid of loving and trying again.
